On Meet the Press this morning, Corey Lewandowski briefly addressed Cambridge Analytica and its role in the Trump campaign.
The Trump-linked data firm has come under serious scrutiny in the past week for obtaining user data and for an undercover exposé revealing some stunning comments from company executives.
Chuck Todd told Lewandowski, I know it wasnt until very late that you finally approved that contract, I believe. Lewandowski jumped in to claim this timeline of events:
I never approved Cambridge Analyticas contract. They did not work for the campaign when I was the manager, so we have to be clear about that. They pitched me three times, three times I said no. They did not come to the campaign until after I left.

(32,639 posts)When the Mercers signed on with Trump in the summer of 2016 (when he became the GOP nominee) they promised him oodles of money. But they also made him take Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway to work on his campaign. Along with Bannon & Conway came the contract with Cambridge Analytica, they were all rolled up together.
By this time Corey Lewandowski had already been fired and Manafort was about to end his short stint. Long story short, I think we can believe Lewandowski on this, he personally had nothing to do with CA while he was managing the campaign.
