McConnell looks to complete hemps comeback as crop

Source: Bangor Daily News

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wants a full pardon for hemp.

The Kentucky Republican on Monday previewed legislation seeking to free the plant from its ties to marijuana and let it take root as a legitimate crop.

Hemp, marijuana’s non-intoxicating cousin, would be removed from the controlled substances list under the bill he’s offering, McConnell said. The result would legalize hemp as an agricultural commodity.

“We’re going to give it everything we’ve got to pull it off,” the Senate’s top leader told hemp advocates in his home state.

Hemp is a good crop. Controls should have been removed long ago.

Wait -- who's paying him off, and for what? OR, how is he personally benefitting that we don't know about?

Nevertheless, unless the corruption is way over the norm, this should be very good for the U.S. and the world. Hemp is almost magical in all its various uses.

... growing hemp. The Chinese are better at growing poppies though.

Hemp would be a good crop for a state like Kentucky too, they have the right climate and growing conditions.

Go Mitch!

I can't believe we are actually having to have this discussion today. I seldom if ever agree with the US Senator from the great state of Kentucky, but he is a true leader on this issue.

Hemp has the potential to massively and positively impact our economy in many ways. That we've not done this already is a crime imo. We have the most and the best farmland and needed resources on earth for large-scale Hemp cultivation. We could lead the world in this area.

We "used" to grow Help here on a tremendous scale, over a period of many many years. If people only knew the truth. Study history my friends. Google it or look it up on Wikipedia. The insights will surprise you if you are not already familiar with the plant's history.

Then, just ask the question: Who/What industries, have long benefitted from the outlawing/prohibition of Hemp
