Oklahoma teachers are sending out images of their school supplies during walkout, and it's powerfu

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - APRIL 2: Stormy Cole, a Stillwater, Oklahoma student displays a protest sign during a teachers' rally at the state capitol on April 2, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Last week, Gov. Mary Fallin said teachers should come to the capitol to thank her for the raise. Thousands of teachers and supporters are scheduled to rally Monday at the state Capitol calling for higher wages and increased school funding. After Oklahoma’s worthless leadership tried to half step their way around truly funding the state’s schools, Oklahoma teachers walked out in protest. Oklahoma teachers are fighting for the educational lives of the state’s children.

Oklahoma’s teachers are rebelling against a decade of state tax cuts that triggered deep cuts in education spending, forcing about 20 percent of public schools to switch to a four-day-week schedule and pushing average teacher salaries to rank 49th in the country. Teachers haven’t gotten a raise in 10 years.

They’ve gone to social media and begun posting the cold hard facts, in full color detail..............................................

Echoes of Wisconsin and decreased funding for public education each year.

In the six years immediately following the Great Recession, Oklahoma’s per student school formula funding has dropped 23.6%.

where were the fucking parents over the past fucking decade???

Are we saying that no one knew the conditions, or what was going on, or what kind of books their kids were bringing home.

They FUCKING knew...and they just didn't give a shit.

Their fucking $12 a month tax-cut was much more important than their kids getting a quality education.

I know that there are good folks in all of these states, but the vast majority of them voted for a fucking party that ran on the platform of cutting education to the god damned bone so they could pass fucking tax cuts...the vast majority of which went to the richest fucking people in their state. People who, I might add, HAVE THE FUCKING MEANS TO SEND THEIR TRUST FUCKING FUND KIDS TO ANY GOD DAMN SCHOOL IN THE FUCKING WORLD.

Part of me, is just so consumed with disdain for fucktwits that vote Retrumplican, and in the cases of these states, VOTE OVERWHELMINGLY RETRUMPLICAN, and then express "shock" at the dumpster fire they started.

My guess is that, to the vast majority of voters in these states, their hatred for immigrants, minorities, women, the LGBTQ community and Hollywood, combined with their love for their guns and their fucking $200 a year tax cut, outweigh their love for their children.

The good people of Oklahoma would be better served if they just got the fuck out of that shithole and left the rest of the deplorable fucks to cannibalize each other.

THIS - IS - NOT -THE - FIRST - TIME - THEY - HAVE - SEEN - THE - CONDITIONS - IN - THEIR - SCHOOLS!!!!!!!

move out of state, and neglect of materials necessary to inform and educate kids who are the future.

Teaching and worker compensation are non-partisan issues, but these folks need to start voting D if they want change!

They voted for the very people who have enacted these policies.

And the sad thing is, they will CONTINUE TO VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS. Even knowing what they do and how they only care about the wealthy, these teachers and these parents will continue to vote for Republican legislators who refuse to adequately compensate teachers and provide students with appropriate educational materials.

It's tribalism at its very worst and pretty ignorant for educational professionals.

I hope these teachers are able to achieve an improvement in the educational environment and their working conditions. But they need to be honest and ask themselves will they commit to voting for the change necessary to obtain a different outcome from the current situation.

Do you understand how DEEPLY red OK really is? Or the amount of religious based ignorance we have to contend with? Democrats/Liberals in OK don't vote for the ass hats but the other 7/8 of the state does. You would have to go back to 1948 to find a time when we were considered a swing state. We haven't voted blue since 1964 when we elected Johnson.
I graduated from a small rural OK school in the late 70's. In 4 years of HS I had ONE science class and ONE math class. Both were taught by the coach who was also a preacher. We didn't have any science labs because there was no equipment, but every few years the basketball team and cheerleaders got new uniforms. Not much has changed. They finally put in A/C and I hear they allow students to bring their own computers/tablets to class.
While it may seem like we are a bunch of inbred idiots who vote against our own interests, I can assure you that there are teachers who do vote blue and will continue to fight, no matter the odds.

They want to STRIP the Kansas Supreme Court of the power to decide how much to fund schools with and give that power entirely to the Legislators--which of course is run by NEO CON,"Guberment Schools" hating Republicans funded by the Koch brothers.

This is an attempt at a HUGE abuse of power, law making and to schools in all of Kansas. Hold on,this BS could get real bad.

Don't educate them, feed them Rush Limbaugh like hate radio/TV for 24 hours a day, & you end up with people who will vote for a man who mocked a disabled person.
