Obstruction Report Coming in June or July

Source: TPM and WaPO

WaPo reporter says Mueller team is planning on releasing a report on the obstruction part of the investigation in June or July.

More info: Mueller team wants to release report on Obstruction investigation, incidents during President's time in office this June or July. AND THEN they continue with collusion probe. Hot Summer. pic.twitter.com/tFQHd9yZ4y

Note that technically, Rod Rosenstein appears to have authorized Mueller to write such a report. In theory, he could decide to keep it confidential. In practice, that seems highly unlikely.

between now and June can be monumental. I was hoping things would be done soon.

A report? I'm sure it will find that Trump attempted to obstruct justice because he admitted it on TV.

But like a report is going to make any difference? So what, a report, sounds like just another whitewash.

This is more or less an impeachment referral.
Mueller can’t indict the president for obstruction. He probably can’t indict him for anything.

What else do you want?

Which could either mean they don't think they have enough evidence to indict, or they agree with the conventional wisdom that they don't have the authority to indict a sitting president. Considering how brazen Trump was in his obstructions of this investigation I would guess its the latter, and they are telling him that he's only a "subject" in order to play rope-a-dope and coax him into testifying (and probably further fucking himself).

It makes sense that they would try to damage him politically and make their evidence public so that congress can act on it (if the political will ever exists).

Someone pointed out some twitter messages by some random whoever that there are times when they don't have to declare someone a target.. such as when they can do massive crazy obstruction in the investigation or they might run.

In other words, since Trump could stop the investigation (sort of but not really) then they might just not tell him he's a target.

Also, Maddow (or a guest?) pointed out that often people go into a grand jury being told they aren't a target... only to be told after that because of the testimony they gave, they're a target now.

haha... if trump isn't a target, mueller is corrupt. And everyone says he's not corrupt. So I suspect he simply wasn't told he's a target.

Wasn't Clinton being sued while in office, as approved by the Supremes, in the Paula Jones case? And the court said presidents have no immunity.

But you are right in that no one has the guts to hold him criminally liable. The RepubliCON Congress will not impeach him, no matter how blatant his crimes. I even have my doubts that if Dems get control of congress that they will do anything. I remember how W got away with approving torture, warrantless spying on Americans and obstruction of justice when he fired all the AGs at a very odd time. But he was never impeached for his crimes. Then the GOP got even more criminal.

We already have a report on his behavior in the Pee Pee dosiare, but RepubliCONS refuse to do anything. Mueller's report will be just another disparaged listing of Trump's crimes and nothing more. So yeah I think another report will be of little value because nothing will come of it.
