He's still a boy, and that makes what he did even more heroic and admirable. Such courage and presence of mind is a rare thing in anyone who is not trained for combat, let alone someone his age. I hope that he gets all the physical and psychological care that he needs. I understand that his family originated in Venezuela--I am not sure how far back that goes, but I read that he has relatives there. People like him are what make hostility to immigrants so shameful.

From the article:

The Parkland student said he "felt good" after going through nine surgeries but a full recovery is expected to take months.

Borges - who has reportedly been nicknamed "the real Iron Man" by his friends - reportedly barricaded a classroom door shut using his body during the shooting last month that left 17 students dead. Boxes of letters expressing love and support have been sent to Anthony.

Snip..

His friends are correct, he is a true “Iron Man”.

What a brave and selfless young man. His strength of character should be an inspiration to us all.
