Male nurse held in murders probe

A male nurse arrested on suspicion of tampering with medical records at Stepping Hill Hospital is now being questioned on suspicion of three counts of murder and 18 counts of causing grievous bodily harm.

Victorino Chua was arrested on Thursday by detectives probing the poisoning of patients at the hospital in Stockport, Cheshire.

Greater Manchester Police said the nurse, 46, has now been further arrested and is being questioned in connection with the deliberate contamination of products at the hospital between June 1 and July 15 last year.

Assistant Chief Constable Terry Sweeney said: "Firstly and most importantly I must stress that we have not established the degree to which deliberate contamination of products may have contributed to the death of four patients.

LADIES were nurses and GENTS were doctors--because those were the rules.

I wonder if we'll ever get beyond that whole gender stereotyping business in my lifetime.

Creepy guy, though. Serial killer....?

I don't get that.

There are men and women in all sorts of occupations, and enough men in nursing at this point that editors should think about the necessity of the word "male" with nurse in a way that we dropped with "doctor", "pilot", "lawyer" and so on.

Seriously, how well are people allowed into the health profession screened there? Was this euthanization?
