Pence on Mueller investigation: 'It's time to wrap it up'

Source: The HILL

.
Vice President Pence on Thursday urged special counsel Robert Mueller to conclude his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, saying that doing so would be in the "interest of the country."

"What I think is that it's been about a year since this investigation began," Pence said in an interview on NBC's "Today" show. "Our administration has provided over a million documents, we've fully cooperated in it and in the interest of the country, I think it's time to wrap it up."

"And I would very respectfully encourage the special counsel and his team to bring their work to completion," he added.

Pence said that the Trump administration has so far been fully cooperative with Mueller's probe, and that it would continue to be.

We knew the moment NY AG Schneiderman resigned, that Trump would be emboldened to take on Mueller.

Especially when Mueller's interview of Trump, us next.

Of course he wants it wrapped up. He's playing, "Who, me?", but he's got his own felonious bona fides. Mueller can run him up a flag pole and force him to sit on the pinnacle. And this Nazi prick deserves it, being so pious and self-righteous, but playing the game of "I'm not in the loop." Pence is part of the loop. He's hip deep in the Flynn scandal, and he's an accessory after the fact for Conspiracy. Oh, and he's the most likely to have his neck wringed if he's ever able to shed his secret service detail and, of course, Mother, and wanders into the seedier side of urban life in search of young boys.

Trump is what he is, a floundering, inarticulate jumble of gnawing insecurities and not-at-all compensating vanities, which is pathetic. Pence is what he has chosen to be, which is horrifying.

indictments to Pence, Ryan and McConnell. I'm sure the "change" rattling in their pockets is part of this whole massive web.

That would rattle a few of the others' cages and loosen some tongues.

Pence must be getting nervous. After all, Mommy won't be able to follow him to prison.

A March 1992 New York Times article published during the 1992 U.S. presidential campaign reported that the Clintons, then governor and first lady of Arkansas, had invested and lost money in the Whitewater Development Corporation.[1] The article stimulated the interest of L. Jean Lewis, a Resolution Trust Corporation investigator who was looking into the failure of Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan, also owned by Jim and Susan McDougal.

Lewis looked for connections between the savings and loan company and the Clintons, and on September 2, 1992, she submitted a criminal referral to the FBI naming Bill and Hillary Clinton as witnesses in the Madison Guaranty case. Little Rock U.S. Attorney Charles A. Banks and the FBI determined that the referral lacked merit, but Lewis continued to pursue the case. From 1992 to 1994, Lewis issued several additional referrals against the Clintons and repeatedly called the U.S. Attorney's Office in Little Rock and the Justice Department regarding the case.[2] Her referrals eventually became public knowledge, and she testified before the Senate Whitewater Committee in 1995.

David Hale, the source of criminal allegations against the Clintons, claimed in November 1993 that Bill Clinton had pressured him into providing an illegal $300,000 loan to Susan McDougal, the Clintons' partner in the Whitewater land deal.[3] The allegations were regarded as questionable because Hale had not mentioned Clinton in reference to this loan during the original FBI investigation of Madison Guaranty in 1989; only after coming under indictment himself in 1993, did Hale make allegations against the Clintons.[4] A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigation resulted in convictions against the McDougals for their role in the Whitewater project. Jim Guy Tucker, Bill Clinton's successor as governor, was convicted of fraud and sentenced to four years of probation for his role in the matter.[5] Susan McDougal served 18 months in prison for contempt of court for refusing to answer questions relating to Whitewater.

Neither Bill Clinton nor Hillary were ever prosecuted, after three separate inquiries found insufficient evidence linking them with the criminal conduct of others related to the land deal. The matter was handled by the Whitewater Independent Counsel, Kenneth Starr. The last of these inquiries came from the final Independent Counsel, Robert Ray, (who replaced Starr) in 2000.[6] Susan McDougal was granted a pardon by President Clinton before he left office.

January 1994
Attorney General Janet Reno appoints Robert Fiske Jr. as the independent counsel in charge of investigating financial irregularities in the dealings of the Whitewater property company. The Clintons, and their business partners, James and Susan McDougal, are implicated.

August 1994
Fiske is replaced by the more conservative Kenneth Starr as the independent counsel investigating the Whitewater scandal.

September 9, 1998
Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr releases his report to Congress. It has 11 possible grounds for impeachment. The House votes to make the 445-page report public.

So we have several more years to go if progress keeps being made, evidence is being discovered, indictments are being issued, and those involved are pleading guilty before Trump/Pence/the GOP can claim the investigation is taking too long and is distracting them.

When Mueller is fully ready, and does "wrap it up", I hope that Pence is wrapped up tightly in that silken web as well, and that Mueller has incontrovertible proof of Pence's involvement. The more layers Mueller finds and wraps around them, the more muffled their protests become.

The Clinton investigations took years to end (and if Republicans had their way we'd still be investigating them). Mueller is investigating what could be the most treasonous act by a President and entire political party in the history of the U.S.

Mr. Pence knows the investigation is amassing enough evidence to completely destroy the Republican party. It's not Mueller's fault Republicans commit treasonous crimes, and then cover up and lie about it ad nauseum. So shut your stupid fundamentalist mouth and start doing something for all of the American people, Q-tip.
