Florida Cop Under Fire for Violent Facebook Comment About Parkland Student David Hogg

Source: The Daily Beast

A veteran Florida police officer is facing disciplinary action for posting a violent comment on Facebook about student gun-control activist and Parkland school student David Hogg. K-9 officer Brian Valenti of the Coconut Creek Police Department made the comment on a post about Hogg’s recent anti-NRA “die-in” protest at Publix stores. Commenting on a photo of the protest, Valenti wrote, “Hope some old lady loses control of her car in that lot. Jus saying.” Valenti, who has 23 years on the force, later removed the post but not before it was spotted and his superiors made aware of it. The police chief, Albert Arenal, later admitted the comment was “unprofessional and inappropriate,” saying Valenti “will be offering an apology, as he has indicated that he wants to do whatever he has to do to make it right,” the Sun-Sentinel reported. Arenal could not say how Valenti would be disciplined but said the department will “look into it more fully on Tuesday.”

This officer just showed every one his true side and nature. He shouldn't even be on the police force at all. David Hogg is doing everything he, as a young student yet, can possibly do to make us all aware of what it would be like to have someone shoot and kill fellow classmates. More power to David Hogg. I hope he never stops his mission.

Police Officer with 23 years of service posts on line that he hopes a high school student is maimed or killed by a driver for exercising his constitutional right to protest against the NRA? This guy needs to go. This sort of thing shouldn't be tolerated from someone who's supposedly a "Police Officer and also a Peace Officer" (another name for police officers). Further proof that the inmates are running the asylum.

to think you wouldn't get caught writing it on FB?

They hate him for no reason.. except they're brainwashed. He doesn't want to take their guns away.. just sensible gun laws.

to go from the mention of sensible gun control laws to "they're coming to get my guns" You can't reason with people about guns because of their bias. Ergo, anyone who mentions gun control is the enemy.

Who was taking shots at them like fish in a barrel, taking down a bunch of them, perhaps the carnage would humanize him a little bit.

Everything is political - until it gets real. The Parkland kids didn't get on their soapboxes prior to the tragedy. The tragedy turned them into advocates.

Why don't these gun nuts get it?

Just look at these results from FreeRepublic

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/search?m=all;o=time;q=quick;s=hit%20protester

This isn't an accident - its an idea that's being actively pushed by someone - and it's working.

Do these people think their comments are NOT going to be seen ?

I think they know damn well what they're doing. After all of the tweets, FB posts, etc., from our peerless leader, they know this stuff will go viral. That's their point. What makes me crazy is when someone (like Sarah Fuckabee Sanders, especially) tries to tell us that it was only a joke. No. Jokes are intended to be amusing. There is nothing remotely funny about this kind of language.

To people like this cop: engage your brain (like try pulling it out of your ass first) before you open your mouth.
