Trump shifts on immigration: 'We need Democrat votes'

Source: The Hill

BY EMILY BIRNBAUM - 06/23/18 12:30 PM EDT

Trump appeared to shift his position on immigration back to advocating negotiation on Saturday, saying “we need Democrat votes” to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

“Remember this, we need Democrat votes,” he said in the White House Weekly Address. “Without the Democrats constantly obstructing, there’s no way you can do it. Without having Democrats voting, there is no way you can get this done. So the Democrats are obstructing, the Democrats don’t want border security, the Democrats are okay with crime – but we’re not okay with it.”

“We need Democrat votes,” he repeated. “Without it, frankly, nothing can be done.”

Trump assumed a different position on Friday, telling Republican lawmakers in a tweet to “stop wasting their time” on immigration until after they potentially take more House seats in the midterms.

If trumps allowed to remain in office for intentionally damaging children for life for his personal political gain. How long before we find out they're trying to make it harder for the parents to find and get their children back? Physically and mentally abusing children intentionally must have consequences, or we're no better than him. Americans can no longer remain silent.

This will pass. The damage is done (to the children), but Democrats will repair whatever can be repaired and get credit for repairing it.

In the near future a Democratic President will be able to say confidently "America is back", and most of the world will cheer (except Putin and ISIS).

The USA is not Trump. Trump is not the USA. Americans are not remaining silent.

The country has not lost its soul. The Republicon Party lost it some time ago, about the time of Palin but the seeds were sewn by Nixon in 1968, fifty years ago.

Trump never had a soul.

when they made an illegal deal with the Iranians to help get Reagan elected. If this wasn't bad enough they immediately turned to subverting US law and waging an illegal war in Nicaragua. They became the party of 'We're the good guys and rules no longer apply to us. We have to break the rules or the bad guys win'...the Chuck Norris/Lone Ranger derangement syndrome.

Ne?

Jeff Sessions wants to deny entry to women seeking asylum from domestic violence, saying it is a private family matter our government can't get involved in. Likewise women trying to rescue their sons from gang-recruitment and their daughters from gang-prostitution and themselves from being murdered for refusing to yield their children to the gangs.

Have you noticed his policy falls hardest of all on women trying to protect their little ones?

Jeff Sessions, when explaining that child-snatching was indeed the means of deterrence, in his infamous quote from St. Paul to the Romans -- he got an unforgettable twinkle in his eye and smile on his face. Ever since, I have wanted to personally slap him silly, just to wipe that smile off his face.

You still probably won't get many votes, but there are actual Democratic votes, so they're a legitimate target.

"Democrat votes", however, exist only in the minds of ignorant people.
