Jeb Bush: I’d Have Been ‘Spanked’ If I Acted Like Obama (VIDEO)
Source: TPM
Jeb Bush said Thursday that he would defend his brother, former President George W. Bush, and his legacy during his convention speech on the final day of the Republican convention. Bush said President Obama's tendency to blame Bush for the recession is worthy of a "spanking."
"I'm going to start off with just a recognition: My brother is a person of courage and integrity and honor and we need people like that in public life," Bush said on "Fox & Friends" Thursday morning. "I love him dearly. I'm biased about this."
Bush said his brother is unfairly maligned by President Obama: "I just feel compelled to do this because almost every day I hear the current incumbent push down the past to make himself look better. When I was growing up, we were spanked when that happened."
"Oh, my gosh," host Gretchen Carlson said. "That's an interesting way to leave it."

(13,200 posts)Poll: Bush's popularity hits new low
March 19, 2008|From Paul Steinhauser CNN deputy political director
A poll out Wednesday finds that 67 percent of those surveyed disapprove of President Bush.
Five years after he green-lighted the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, President Bush faced strikingly low approval ratings as he reaffirmed his commitment to "accept no outcome but victory" in the war.
Just 31 percent of Americans approve of how President Bush is handling his job, according to a poll released Wednesday, the anniversary of the start of the conflict in 2003.
Sixty-seven percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey disapprove of the president's performance

(1,574 posts)many believe your brother and Cheney should stand trial for their actions. Only extreme RWs think that Obama should be in jail or on trial for his even if they disagree in principal.

You and your crime family are largely responsible for the downfall of this country and you all deserve a hearty spanking followed by long prison sentences.

(9,154 posts)Just think, if everyone on this one website who truly disagreed with each other could spank each other, imagine that. Now, imagine being a young kid, not knowing much yet, just learning how to talk, and saying something that respectfully (because you love your parents) if clumsily disagrees with a parent who listens to Jeb Bush.
My guess is you learn to keep your mouth shut. So, after a few years of practicing keeping your mouth shut, then you go to school, and you're not allowed to keep your mouth shut, but since you don't communicate with your parents as a survival or anti-spanking strategy, the words come out wrong because you haven't been encouraged to communicate at home, whoops, more punishment
then you go to a work environment where education is put on a pedestal.
Where is the 'pursuit of happiness' claimed to be an inalienable right?

(6,829 posts)GW had 8 years to fuck everything up and plant Cheney moles throughout the entire DC government. The magnitude of damage GW has inflicted upon our formerly great nation will take Obama five terms to clean up!
I hope my countrymen aren't stupid and racially prejudiced enough to elect a GW Bush Third term on steroids!

Bush and clan blamed 9/11 on Clinton as well as many other things. The Republicans went straight from blaming Clinton to blaming Obama.

BUSH: Motherly. And fatherly. I mean, that's just a normal reaction.
But the same would be true if something happened that was difficult for Jeb or for Doro or Neil or Marvin. And you can criticize me, but don't criticize my children and don't criticize my daughters-in-law and don't criticize my husband, or you're dead.
