De Blasio and Parkland survivor David Hogg announce new 'Mayors For Our Lives' initiative

The March for Our Lives now has a voter registration offshoot — Mayors for Our Lives.

Mayor de Blasio and Parkland school shooting survivor David Hogg announced a bipartisan national effort to register young voters Thursday in an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

“What we’re doing with Mayors for Our Lives is we’re announcing a campaign that’s bipartisan, with Republicans and Democrats, to register a new generation of voters,” Hogg said.

Hogg has become a vocal proponent for gun control in the wake of the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

6. The March For Our Lives students

had a summer road trip/tour to get people registered to vote. It was called "Road To Change".

"This summer, the students of March For Our Lives made stops across America to get young people educated, registered, and motivated to vote. We called it March For Our Lives: Road to Change.

When people across the country rallied at the March For Our Lives just over 2 months ago, we showed our politicians that we refuse to accept gun violence as an unsolvable issue. Now, we’re turning our energy into action."
