IOWA NEWSPAPER SAYS GOP CONGRESSMAN SPENDS ALL HIS TIME WITH 'NEO-NAZIS' AND 'FASCISTS', ENDORSES DEMOCRATS INSTEAD

Iowa's largest and most influential newspaper, The Des Moines Register, slammed Representative Steve King (Republican - Iowa) in a scathing editorial that went also after the GOP as a whole.

The Register's editorial board on Saturday endorsed voting for Democrats down the line, arguing that Republicans had failed to get anything good done despite controlling the both chambers of Congress and the White House.

But the strongest language in the piece was reserved for the race involving King, who has routinely made national headlines for accusations of racism and his penchant for running in the same circles as neo-Nazis.

The editorial read, in part:

"This one's a no-brainer for any Iowan who has cringed at eight-term incumbent King’s increasing obsession with being a cultural provocateur. In his almost 16 years in Congress, King has passed exactly one bill as primary sponsor, redesignating a post office. He won’t debate his opponent and rarely holds public town halls. Instead, he spends his time meeting with fascist leaders in Europe and retweeting neo-Nazis."

Sadly, northwestern Iowa's Fourth Congressional District is just like South Dakota and northeast Nebraska, the parts of the states that it borders.

IA-3 has a good chance at electing Democrat Cindy Axne, and that district includes Council Bluffs, a suburb of Omaha. I'm hoping Kara Bacon can win NE-2, which the district that sent one 2008 electoral vote to DC for Barack Obama, and the district that was a virtual toss-up in 2016.

but was getting exposed for being a fraud too much. One of his last exchanges had Thom getting him to admit that he really didn't believe the nonsense he was pushing. I can't remember the exact issue but when Thom asked King why he didn't just tell his supporters the truth he chuckled and said "I can't say that in front of them." Typical Republican.

The Dubuque paper bends over backwards to appease Trump and his local clone Blum. When local people don't genuflect in front of Trump or Blum before even speaking their names the TH is right there to engage in some finger wagging.
