Andrew Gillum Announces He's Withdrawing His Concession: We Need to Count Every Vote

Andrew Gillum, the Democratic candidate for governor in Florida, conceded the race on Tuesday night to Ron DeSantis. But with the recount ordered today, Gillum has rescinded his concession and said he wants every vote to be counted.

There has been a great deal of scrutiny surrounding officials in Broward County in particular. President Donald Trump brought up Gillum’s concession yesterday as he blasted said officials, but Gillum responded by saying every vote should be counted:

Today Gillum said, “Since the last time we spoke on election night, an evening where I operated with the best information that was available to me––and since that time more information has come in, more information has become available around the votes, around the votes that are still outstanding.”

As he spoke of the uncertainty around the vote, he brought up how Trump and others have pointed to his own concession before saying, “Let me say clearly I am replacing my words of concession with an uncompromised and unapologetic call that we count every single vote, that we count every vote. And I say this recognizing that my fate in this may or may not change.”

He had his attorneys ready that night.

I have no idea who counseled Gillum to concede Tuesday night, but they need to be fired and never rehired. I still think Gillum won;t eke out a win, but Nelson very well may.
