The remains of six more people were found in the Northern California town of Paradise after the Camp Fire swept through the area, bringing the total number of deaths related to the blaze to 29 and matching the deadliest fire in state history, authorities said Sunday.
Butte County Sheriff Kory L. Honea told reporters that five bodies were found in homes and one was found in a vehicle.
The Camp Fire, believed to be the most destructive in state history, had burned more than 6,000 homes and scorched 111,000 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Cal Fire.
Roughly 100 people were still missing after the fire tore through Butte County, said Mark Ghilarducci, director of the California Office of Emergency Services.

The local press conference just said 228 missing. The lower number above was from last nights update. Many of these people are safe and just out of pocket, but not all.
This is a horrific event with many lives lost and others otherwise devastated. Keep them in your thoughts. There's so much suffering taking place here right now.

We just learned all Paradise police, and 7 CHP officers working out of the Chico office lost their homes, but are bearing up as well as possible and still working.
