Turkey has second audio recording on Khashoggi killing: Columnist
Source: Hurriyet Daily News
Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi reported on Nov. 16 that Turkey has more evidence, including a second, longer audio recording that contradicts with key findings of the Saudi public prosecutors indictment against the suspected murderers of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
...snip...
According to the Turkish columnist, a set of findings and evidence in Turkeys own probe disprove some of the Saudi prosecutors claims over the killing.
Another tape, Selvi wrote Nov. 16, was recorded 15 minutes before Khashoggi arrived the consulate.
In this 15-minute recording, the Saudi team discusses how to execute Khashoggi. They are reviewing their plan, which was previously prepared, and reminding themselves the duties of each member, according to the columnist.

(21,635 posts)While Bitchy Mitchy, obviously, can still stop it from ever passing (to say nothing of a Cheeto veto), I hope Dems insist on passing this as often as it takes to keep it in the news.
And, hopefully, when Democrats regain the White House in 2020, it can be passed into law - over what no doubt will be GOPee wailing and gnashing of teeth of Bibiblical proportions.

(21,635 posts)The Bushes must have gotten billions from them, one way or another.
The Saudis, of course, got their payback too - in the form of oil prices that ballooned from $30 a barrel before the invasion to $140 a barrel by 2008.
Who can forget that $4.50-a-gallon gas! ($5 in California). The 405 (LA's busiest freeway) was pretty quiet there for a while in late '08 and early '09, let me tell you.
Such is the world, as you know much better than I do Judi.

(1,142 posts)They release audio the Saudis adjust their story to the known evidence, then just when the Saudis think they have developed a cover story Turkey releases new evidence to expose the new lies.
We all know the truth, remember when both Trump and Lindsay Graham claimed they would hold MBS and the Saudis responsible if they were behind the murder, well did anyone believe those two... besides the cult of deplorables?

That would suggest that they might have had time to tip off Khashoggi--possibly preventing his death. I'm not entirely thrilled with the Turkish officials' behavior. The Saudis were monsters but it seems like (if the article is accurate) that the Turks may have let this happen to have a reason to go after their enemies. I hope I'm wrong.

(59,503 posts)ie - maybe a Turkish worker left an inconspicuous recording device and when they returned to work picked it up. (Supposedly the Turkish staff was not there on that day. However being told not to come to work might have made any Turkish asset there suspicious.)
I agree that IF they did have this real time, they should have tried to prevent him from entering the embassy -- possibly by "arresting" him and his fiancee outside.
