Trump working on extraditing Erdogan foe Gulen, Turkish foreign minister claims

President Donald Trump is working on extraditing exiled cleric Fethullah Gulen, a longtime target of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the country's foreign minister claimed on Sunday.

"In Argentina, Trump told Erdogan they were working on extraditing Gulen and other people," Mevlut Cavusoglu said Sunday at a conference in Doha, referring to the G20 summit where the leaders met two weeks ago.

NBC News reported last month that the White House was looking for ways to remove Gulen from the U.S. in order to placate Turkey over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, according to two senior U.S. officials and two other people briefed on the requests.

Trump administration officials asked federal law enforcement agencies to examine legal ways of removing the exiled cleric in an attempt to persuade Erdogan to ease pressure on the Saudi government, the four sources said.

Erdogan has been a thorn in Trump's side by releasing the recordings of Khashoggi's murder. The Senate has acted to get us out of Yemen and the Khashoggi murder has been one of the reasons that Republicans have turned on MBS. Trump owes Saudi Arabia so if he turns over Gulen then Erdogan may back off on the murder of Khashoggi which will make MBS happy.

Khashoggi wasn't enough.

Who's next after Gulen?

What's Trump going to do? Send Federal Marshalls to take Gulen into custody?

So either he gives him up to Turkey , or he'll be exposed for what he sold them , and for how much. trump is again compromised for his illegal dealings with foreign countries , again. Congress should step in and prevent this from happening , or face even more investigations and getting exposed helping trump, then get charged fro their actions .

but, in this one and only instance, he is right.

The evidence is so overwhelming with Gulen's involvement you would simply have to possess unbelievable stupidity or a sense of subversion not to see it. One of the most damning pieces of evidence was a commercial broadcast in Turkey that (at the time) made zero sense. It begins with air raid sirens, then bombs and fades away to a brand new baby being born. No other words - nothing.

9 months to the exact day later, the military coup took off.

I also have zero respect for Erdogan, but I do respect democracy and as much as it kills me to admit it - he is, has been and probably will be the person elected by his country to lead. Gulen has tried to subvert his legitimate election all along the way.

Truthfully, if Trump wants to handle this in the best way possible, he will turn Gulen over to the Hague and let them examine and decide his guilt or innocence.
