Florida human trafficking: Billionaire equity firm owner John Childs wanted on prostitution charge
Source: TCPalm.com
Billionaire equity firm owner John Childs is one of several men accused of soliciting prostitution in connection with a Florida spa tied to an international human trafficking ring, police said Thursday.
Childs, who lives seasonally in Indian River Shores, is wanted on a solicitation of prostitution charge, according to a warrant for his arrest. He has not been arrested.
Childs owns J.W. Childs Associates, a private equity firm based in Massachusetts.
He's a prominent donor to several Republican politicians and groups, including former U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan, Club for Growth and 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

(17,289 posts)some (all?) of the women were sex slaves/coerced. So these repugnant MFs were participating in and supporting human trafficking. Lock their asses up. All of them. The owners of the spas and the Johns.

(8,020 posts)but, the punishment that these "johns" face amounts to just a slap on the wrist & we all know that the rich get special treatment in this country when it comes to justice. They only face a few months but have no doubt they will only be fined, if that.

(16,339 posts)billionaires? Jesus christ...
They are billionaires and they could buy pretty much anything they wanted and they spend their money having sex with slaves?
Perhaps that is the problem though, they can have anything they want and nothing really satisfies them anymore. There is just never enough with these people.
The normal shit becomes routine, they find the earth boring, and languishing for something new, they turn to the Great Taboos for distraction at first, and then appetite as they steadily become more craven, more cruel.

OTOH... one has to wonder...what are the odds that two prominent BILLIONAIRES are frequenting the same tacky strip mall massage parlor? What is really going on there.?
SInce the right does nothing but psychologically project...perhaps this is the "Pizza Parlor".
Just spit-balling.

(47,430 posts)We see such escalation in serial rapists and murderers. Always looking to recreate that thrill, but as it evades them, they have to go bigger and more forbidden and somehow cruelty is often involved.

(47,430 posts)I've said the same thing numerous times. It is definitely a psychological disorder and unfortunately it is destructive to more than just the one who is afflicted. If the person is allowed to attain positions of great power, a nation or the entire planet can be in jeopardy.
Should have been addressed and treated when they were young, but once they become rich adults, they won't listen to anyone and we have to use the legal system to counteract their dangerous behavior.

(47,430 posts)People are encouraged to be highly competitive and their worth as a person is measured by financial and material success. I remember when the phrase "Nice guys finish last" became popular and we laughed as if it was a joke, but it was becoming a motto that many people lived by. "Do unto others" was quaint and outdated, "The one who dies with the most toys, wins" was more fitting for the materialistic age.
I started to notice that the only higher education that seemed to matter was business oriented, unless you wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer. In the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", the poor dad was a teacher who actually loved what he was doing, but his son (the author) so him as a failure because he wasn't rich. So to many people success is only about money.

(2,191 posts)I can't see any other choice. It can't be for comfort or convenience or looking at it as a business transaction. There has to be something about these women -- perhaps they're underage, or it's the language barrier, but I believe that these people deliberately sought out this kind of place.

(602 posts)Although exerting control is a strong factor.
It is the risk of ruin, in some maybe even the desire for it.
It's also a perversion, a thrill to stand among those that love and respect them, and have this foul secret held back from them all as one stands in their midst, at the foot of their children's beds, lying beside a spouse.
"If they only knew the things that I've done, what I've seen. They have no idea who the real Me is, nobody does, this is my secret and I draw strength from its evil weight."
This thing has always been with us as we grew into civilization, it grew in darkness, an inverted mirror of our collected good, in spite of it, maybe even because of it
This sickness in our elites traces it's origins all the way back to Rome, and further into our past. In the embrace of power, the fertility and potential of every man to spoil, become a corruption of themselves, exists in each and all.
The choice to yield to it or not is the war within each. It's telling that so few among the one percent champion the world that they wrestled so much wealth from, that so few give back in meaningful ways.
All of us know the truth here. Some may seek to deny it, yet these things are what they are.

I saw an estimate that those girls and women were seeing 1500+ clients (rapist douchebags) a year. And they werent allowed to keep clean.
I mean, there are 5 star restaurants that havent had a single billionaire visit, and some dump whorehouse in Jupiter, Florida has two visit during the same sting by police?

(8,694 posts)Gave $4 million to GOP in 2016. The third multi billionaire to have a warrant in this case. There are 200 warrants, will be more. These guys could have any high end professional call girl they want, for sex. Yet they went to this sleazy strip mall to rape imprisoned, abused sex slaves. It wasnt about sex, its power, domination, degradation.
