Rod Rosenstein says Justice Department should not release info on uncharged suspects

Source: Chicago Tribune

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said Monday he believes the Justice Department should not reveal information about people it does not charge with crimes - an ominous sign for those hoping the department will soon disclose the closely held details of special counsel Robert Mueller's probe of President Donald Trump and his campaign.

Speaking at an event about the rule of law at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, Rosenstein said, "The guidance I always gave my prosecutors and the agents that I worked with during my tenure on the front lines of law enforcement were if we aren't prepared to prove our case beyond a reasonable doubt in court, then we have no business making allegations against American citizens."

Though he asserted his comments were not about any particular case, he noted the issue was one "that we'll be discussing nationally."

For days, lawmakers and pundits in Washington have debated what should become public about Mueller's probe once it ends. On Sunday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said Democrats plan to subpoena Mueller's report and will go to court if necessary.

prepare for let down, I don't expect any bombshell and trump will ultimately be shielded, with the aid of the Mueller team, justice etc..there are too many interests involved and they will let the 2020 election be his impeachment, I'll bet anyone here.

that everyone involved has a damned (R) after their name.
I believe that we're being bullshitted heavily by Barr.
Who knows what's really what with Mueller?
I believe that there is serious desperation, for many people, behind the latest obstruction.
I'll never put anything past a f'cking Republican when it comes to $$$ and power.
I'll take some of that bet action myself...

And yes, the GOP is going to toss Comrade Trump under the bus in the election.
Not to do the right thing, mind you. This will just be the GOP's way to get rid of the problem.

They have consistently put their party first before the welfare of the nation. Be assured that he will be greatly rewarded for his loyalty. His departing praise of Trump sent a signal out far and wide that he is still a loyal member like a so-called "made man" in the Mafia.

The Republican Party operates exactly like a criminal enterprise that puts the welfare of its wealthy members as their top priority. It matters not to them that thousands will die because of no health insurance or result in bankruptcy. They are willing to use kids as pawns to satisfy the racist constituency of their party that they have cultivated over the last forty years. It matters not the infrastructure of the nation is in shambles because of their policy to enrich the wealthy. The list could go on for pages.

The enemy is not at the gates. It is internal like a cancer that is eating soul of the nation. Their message of hatred and division is broadcast daily by hundreds of loyal propagandists to millions of their unwitting followers who have been convinced that they are the only true Americans. They believe that they are salt of the nation rather than pathetic dupes that are being fleeced by charlatans who are regarded as little more than useful idiots. It is a rather interesting phenomena to watch people so enthusiastically enjoying their own destruction. Like a ship of fools drilling holes in their own boat. You only have to consider how easily it was to convince them that unions that created the middle class were their enemy as to just how pathetic the situation has become. Of for that matter how they are convinced that universal medical care is a disease. The list goes on...

that Mueller will wrap up his investigation not only with a report but also the final indictments against Trump/Trump family/inner circle. He felt that Mueller understands once he touches this very inner circle, it will push Trump over the edge and so Mueller is waiting for the very end to drop the indictments that tie everything together.

Certainly plausible to me.

I think Kushner is in the clear since Mueller apparently signed off on his security clearance. Jr may be liable for lying to congress, but we will see.

It will be interesting what Cohen says before the House tomorrow, but I don't have high hopes that it will be that effective. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll set off some fireworks, but he's a convicted liar, and nothing he says will be taken at face value.

By one of the other state and federal investigations that are also in the process. The Mueller investigation is far from the only one going on right now. There are lots of reasons not to name names, one of them being that they can destroy evidence. There are also jury pools that could be tainted.
