There's a ton of road construction in Milwaukee now. I believe the big stuff will be completed before the convention.
Let's hope the bus system, the hotel network are ready.
I suggest make your restaurant reservations now.
I'm sure we have a few southeastern Wisconsin residents who can speak in detail on the area.

(12 posts)I live 8 blocks north of the new Forum in a neighborhood directly adjacent to downtown Milwaukee, so I will be directly impacted by the DNC Convention and I think this is a great choice. If anyone has any questions, feel free to send me a message directly.
1. Wisconsin will go back to being reliably Blue if we have a message that can reach the farmers and workers who thought Trump would save their livelihoods when in reality he turned around and destroyed them with tariffs.
2. Our Democratic Governor is facing battle after battle with a totally GOP controlled statehouse due to gerrymandering. A strong voting rights message will help, but just making sure the Democratic platform of helping the middle class resonates throughout the state will be very important.
3. Milwaukee does have segregation issues and problems with access to affordable housing and services for minorities. Wisconsin has seen its share of voter suppression and police brutality as well. Milwaukee provides a spotlight for highlighting the Democratic Party plans to address these issues nationwide.
4. Wisconsin's proximity to natural resources like the Great Lakes and the Northwoods makes it a natural place to talk about the impacts of climate change and the solutions we need to implement immediately.
All-in-all, Milwaukee is a Democratic Party stronghold in a state that has been and needs to shift back to Blue for a Democrat to take back the White House, plus it provides naturally relatable ways to discuss most of the party's major platform initiatives. Plus, Wisconsin in the Summertime is almost as perfect weather can get. Excited to see you all here in 2020!!
