DC radio station ordered to register as Russian agent
Source: The Hill
A federal judge ruled Tuesday that a radio station in Washington, D.C. must register as a Russian foreign agent.
U.S. District Court Judge Robin Rosenburg ruled in favor of the Justice Department (DOJ) in finding that RM Broadcasting, which airs Sputnik International broadcast 24/7 from Moscow, is a foreign principal, WTOP reported.
RM, a Florida-based company owned by an American named Arnold Ferolito, argued in a lawsuit that it was only buying and reselling airtime to Rossiya Segodnya, the Russian Federation government-owned news agency.
RM in 2017 agreed to broadcast the agencys communications continuously without edit until 2021, AP reported.

(30,613 posts)That will ultimately be their final downfall. They've suckered all the faux patriots into believing that the arms dealers' trade association is the church they should attend. Then the masks come off and it turns out their "pope" is Vladimir Putin.
That would be pure Karma.

(1,242 posts)sounds like representation by Baghdad Bill Barr, who can say "No" to answer whether Trump said or knew something, only to explain later that when he answered "No" that it referred to something else. Word twisting to the point of lying. Remember when Reagan said "But in my heart...." about Iran Contras? Not only was it the weakest of wiggles, but it was under his watch. Not even a 'hey...good intentions leading to a massive screw up of doing business with terrorists'. That's where all this leads.
Sounds like Rossiya Segodnya managed to not only get their Tokyo Rose into D.C., but arrange for an entire radio station.

A federal judge in Florida has ruled that the owner of a Washington, DC radio station must register as a foreign agent for leasing WZHF (1390) to Russian government-controlled Radio Sputnik.

Rossia Segodnya news service has also leased the Reston, VA-licensed translator W288BS at 105.5 FM since July 2017 from Reston Translators, a company controlled by communications attorney John Garziglia. It pays $900,000or $30,000 per monthfor use of the Washington, DC market translator through December 2019. Unlike RM Broadcasting, Reston Translators made a foreign agent filing with the Justice Department.
