House Democrats to read the entire Mueller report aloud on floor of Congress on Thursday
BOB BRIGHAM
14 MAY 2019 AT 19:15 ET

House Democrats announced a new effort on Tuesday to educate the American people on the special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

“More than 20 House Democrats will stage a marathon public reading of the entire redacted Mueller report beginning Thursday at noon, and likely ending in the early morning hours of Friday,” The Washington Post announced.

The effort is being organized by Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA), the vice chair of the House Judiciary Committee.

“We’ve been saying for weeks that if you think there was no obstruction and no collusion, you haven’t read the Mueller report. So the ongoing quest has been, ‘How do we get that story out there while we are waiting for the witnesses to come in?’” Scanlon explained.

I read the redacted report and it is seriously very bad for Trump. It makes a VERY clear case that there was both collusion and obstruction. Unfortunately, Barr got the report stopped before they had it firmed up enough to throw anyone in prison.

But that's coming.

However, unless they read select portions of the report, it's going to take a lot more than just Thursday to read it all into the record - the professionally narrated audiobook is 19 hours long.

... I wish they'd schedule the conclusions to be read in prime time...

The conclusion that Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the President 's corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law .

At the same time, if we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, we are unable to reach that judgment. Accordingly, while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.

it's not clear to me if the report will be read into the Congressional record, or whether the 20 Democrats in the House Rules Committee Room on Thursday will simply read the report out loud in a non-legislative capacity. If it's the latter, they may not be covered by the Constitution's Speech or Debate Clause, and my dream of justice dies a painful death!

How many people are going to watch for 12 hours? I mean the report is available to read on line at one's leisure.

There is a way for Democrats to control the narrative, start impeachment proceedings.

Anyone should have seen what was going to happen, especially if dumb me predicted it. Trump/Barr changed the narrative by starting another investigation of the FBI and Democrats who carried out a witch hunt against Donald Trump. That's the narrative now on the M$M. See, Trump was right all along, he was spied on by the deep state, that's the narrative. This new Barr investigation is going to drag on right up to the election so that Trump can control the narrative.

Americans are swayed by sound bites not by marathon reading sessions. While Democrats are busy reading the redacted Mueller report Republicans will be on cable news claiming "No Collusion, No Obstruction, the deep state, rogue FBI agents and Hillary and Obama spied on Trump."

I hope I'm wrong. I mean Republicans are violating the Constitution, would it help if Democrats held a marathon session and read the Constitution?

My local cable provider doesn't carry C-Span. Now if they were reading the un-redacted Mueller report people would tune in.

We need to serialize the readings. And get some heavy hitter actors in there to read it. Maybe some special effects would help. Get those production values up!

55. HOW TO WATCH HOUSE MEMBERS READ FULL REDACTED MUELLER REPORT STARTING NOON ON THURSDAY
Thu May 16, 2019, 03:44 AM
May 2019

BY KATHERINE HIGNETT ON 5/15/19 AT 6:12 AM EDT

From noon Thursday, more than 20 Democratic representatives will read out the entire redacted Mueller report at the Capitol. And organizer Representative Mary Gay Scanlon of Pennsylvania thinks that number is likely to grow.

According to The Washington Post, which reported the news Tuesday, the lengthy reading will be live-streamed and later shared as an audiobook. The session will take place in the House Rules Committee Room, and Scanlon estimated it could take between 12 and 14 hours.

Gabby Richards, Scanlon's communications director, told Newsweek the congresswoman's team is planning to stream the event live on her social media accounts and via YouTube. This article will be updated with the link when it is available. The live video may be broadcast through other outlets, but Scanlon's team is still working to finalize this.

Richards confirmed a podcast-style recording of the reading will be made available free of charge on streaming platforms such as SoundCloud and Spotify.
