Frenchman sentenced to death over Indonesia drug smuggling

A Frenchman has been sentenced to death for drug trafficking in a shock verdict after prosecutors had asked for a 20-year prison term.
Félix Dorfin, 35, was convicted of trafficking about 3kg (6.6lb) of various drugs into the Indonesian holiday island of Lombok.
He was arrested in September last year at the island's airport.
Indonesia has some of the world's strictest drug laws - including death for some traffickers.

Why do these morons courier drugs through places like Indonesia and Singapore knowing the penalty is death?

(37,648 posts)Why do these guys traffic drugs in these countries that have such harsh laws? Yeah, I know it's the money. But there are other countries. Other illegal activities that don't result in a death sentence.
Countries especially don't like foreigners trafficking drugs into their countries.
