A person familiar with the matter tells me Special Counsel Mueller will deliver a substantial statement at 11 a.m. today, and the statement is NOT a response to reporting about claims in Michael Wolffs soon-to-be released book.

(9,426 posts)Bill "Low" Barr or other tRump lawyers did not edit this statement. We need the TRUTH. Sick of having the gop cover for the low class, uneducated, moron in the WH.

And it's SO true
As for Mueller, not looking for a bombshell or breaking news because he STILL works for "Low" Barr & the Big, orange, human anus installed in the White House..

(15,286 posts)if that. It might be to refute the story in The Guardian about the draft indictment, though.
If Nadler wants a lead-off witness, he should subpoena Andrew Weissman, who has retired from DoJ, and is now a private citizen not under the control of DoJ or the WH. Weissman can give all the same info as Mueller without all the drama.

(1,336 posts)but to confirm it. The Guardian let a couple of cats out of the bag, and Mueller must know that there's no way of getting them back in the bag (you know how hard it is to catch and herd them!!!).
Fingers crossed, anyway.

(37,648 posts)Hopefully, it's to put to rest Trump/Barr's "investigation" into the investigation on the Russian interference. If that's it, Mueller is partially to blame. He had fair notice what the country is dealing with in Trump.

(8,200 posts)The so-called policy of not indicting a sitting president should be tested in court. It effectively places a person above the law and makes the judgement of a crime a political question in which in this case the jury is rigged. Is this justice? Personally I never expected more.
The DOJ top is dominated by Republicans. Just who hell does think Mueller think he is? He won't take any questions from the press of the congress. So much for transparency. The damn Republicans will be the death of the nation.

(1,990 posts)That the only reason Trump wasn't indicted is because he is President.
How on earth people heard or read Mueller's remarks as anything other than completely throwing Trump under the bus is beyond me.
He hit on all points: 1)the investigation was legal and proper based upon DOJ policy; 2)Russia - at the direction of Putin - hacked the DNC server to hurt Clinton; 3)DOJ policy/OLC memo kept him from indicting Trump; 4) Trump is not "exhonerated". 5)The Constitution prescribes a remedy for a criminal President.
