Jeffrey Epstein arrested in New York, charged with sex trafficking

Source: Miami Herald

More than a decade after receiving one of the most lenient sentences for a serial sex offender in U.S history, multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested in New York, sources confirmed to the Miami Herald Saturday night.

Epstein, 66, is expected to be arraigned in federal court in New York on Monday on charges that he molested dozens of underage girls in New York and in Florida, the sources said. His arrest, first reported by the Daily Beast, comes nearly two weeks after the Justice Department announced that it would not throw out his 2008 non-prosecution agreement, even though a federal judge ruled it was illegal.

Rumors had been circulating for months that Epstein was under investigation on sex charges in the Southern District of New York. It’s not clear what those investigations involved, and the Herald had not been able to confirm the status of the New York probe.

Sources said he was arrested Saturday night by the FBI, pursuant to a sealed indictment that will be unsealed on Monday. He is in custody in New York and a bail hearing is set for Monday.

As Jesus said in Luke 17:37: “Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.” As long as Mr. Epstein has two coins left of his vast fortune, there will be lawyers eager to relieve him of them.

Folks at Trump's DC Mall Extravoganda were flashing JKK Jr faces (on sticks) because they expected to see him come out and join Trump at the celebration - as the kick off to mass arrests due to a world wide pedo sex exploitation ring that was first uncovered about the pizza joint in DC. (Which led to an arrest when a follower showed up with a rifle to "save the kids held in the basement" - when there was no basement, no kids, no conspiracy.)

I am thankful for this arrest. I hope the next steps aren't as back slapping easy as Acosta dealt out back in the original case. This is evil.

At the same time, I do wonder how the crazy trumpist/QAnon folks will read this as confirmation of their crazy conspiracy.

but it comes up with some interesting points.

It's unusual for an indictment on a Saturday, however, seeing as Epstein just landed from a trip it may make sense.

The case is being handled bt the Public Corruption Unit of SDNY and that is unusual for a sex trafficking case.

The indictment won't be unsealed until Monday which is also unusual unless there may be a 2nd defendant.

C'mon lawyers here, what stinks about this?

I'm not sure if it links back directly to Epstein. But I'm almost sure they came up in that excellent series of articles written by The Miami Herald last year. This rabbit hole is so deep that it's mind blowing.

32. UPDATE: Some rich and powerful men are 'sweating it out' ahead of indictment

New York Daily News

A slew of rich and powerful men are likely “sweating it out” ahead of Monday’s indictment against hedge-funder and registered pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, according to a reporter who originally chronicled details of Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking crimes.

In an interview Sunday morning on MSNBC, Miami Herald scribe Julie K. Brown said the new sex-trafficking charges against Epstein may involve “one victim if not more” in New York.

...snip...

Brown told MSNBC’s David Gura that the new case could have explosive consequences.

"Needless to say, these are very powerful people and I think that they’re sweating a little bit, especially today,” she said. “We don’t know how much, how deep this went, how far-reaching it went in government, but there have been a lot of names that I could see on these message pads (listing clients) on a regular basis as part of the evidence. These message pads where they would call and leave Epstein messages, such as, ‘I’m at this hotel.’ Why do you do that, unless you’re expecting him to send you a girl to visit you at your hotel?
