Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on Tuesday responded to President Donald Trumps racist tweets by suggesting that Democrats are baby killers if they support abortion.
At a press conference at the Capitol, Republican leaders including Cheney refused to condemn Trumps tweets which suggested that four Democratic congresswomen of color should go back to their home country even though all four are American citizens.
Instead of calling the tweets racists, Cheney branded Democratic congresswomen Ilhan Omar (MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Ayanna Pressley (MA) and Rashida Tlaib (MI) as socialists.
This is the greatest nation that has ever existed, Cheney said. The exceptional nation and they are wrong when they fail to recognize that no people have ever lived in greater freedom.
Our colleagues, our socialist colleagues on the other side of the aisle are wrong when they advocate abortion up until the moment of birth including partial term abortion, late term abortion and when they refuse to mandate care for babies who are born alive, she continued, refusing to directly address the presidents tweets................................

She is an awful, awful woman. Like Ivanka, she has closed her eyes to her father's horribleness.

(3,836 posts)nasty, bigoted, racist mouth was a lie. And it sure seemed that she spoke the lies without caring or even being aware they were lies. Every word was poison, like her father's words, like McConnell's words and the words of most other republicans. It is so distressing, so heart breaking to see where our country is going with the tyrant trump in the lead.
They all just lie with impunity like their leader and there is no one to call them on it.
I used to be cautiously optimistic, but I seemed to have lost most of that optimism by the wayside. What has happened? How did we get here? What can be done?

(10,437 posts)Why do we care? We know the enemy and we have just one avenue, to beat them into submission. No longer about getting sling, or working together. I view the opposition like I view Nazis, give them no quarter except unconditional surrender. Time to take it to them and quit pussyfooting around. Otherwise we prove what republicans have always said democrats are...

Her words come across as gibberish. Its as if she believes the GOP has any moral authority about the care of babies.
Liz, your party is the one that takes a baby from its mothers arms and puts it in a warehouse, locking it away in a cage. Dont patronize us. Everyone is on to you now.
