TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Honduras on Saturday on the final leg of a tour of Central America.

Pelosi is traveling with a congressional delegation to explore the causes of immigration and possible solutions. The delegation has already visited Guatemala and El Salvador and still plans to visit migrant detention facilities in McAllen, Texas.

"The purpose of any of our congressional travel is always to promote security and regional stability," Pelosi said. "In each of the countries we visited, we made the point that you could not have security unless you end corruption."

as our neighborhood pusher (hence Wall Street's interest in the otherwise quite marginal country).

Still, they're there - and it's best to show respect. Something Cheeto is utterly incapable of doing.

3. And then of course all we have to do is develop a humane and equitable foreign policy

that is something more than carpet-bagging on a grand scale, something the U.S. has never before done.

But as you know, since the Reagan/Ambassador John Negroponte days (remember him?) the primary interest any GOP president has in Honduras, is as an entrepot for Colombian dope headed for the U.S.

The candy that makes you dandy, makes the stock markets a good bit more dandy too.
