Dorian now a Category 5 storm

Hurricane Dorian now has maximum sustained winds of 160 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. This would put the storm in the highest category on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.

Dorian will be capable of catastrophic damage as it tracks towards the Bahamas today into tomorrow.

Dorian is now projected to remain a hurricane through Friday

for an eye-wall replacement soon, which would temporarily decrease it's intensity, but it's over very warm water and it won't take long to intensify again. Hurricanes fascinate me, but their destructive force I could do without. I used to live in Florida, but returned north for good because of the vagaries of the weather. The summer heat actually made me ill, even when staying in air-conditioning all day. For non-natives Florida is an acquired taste, and I could never acquire it.

7. The eye has been amazingly stable and there is doubt that it would need an ERC at this point.

If you look at the sat images, it has been pretty clear and tight.

Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate
that Dorian has continued to intensify, and now has maximum
sustained winds near 175 mph (280 km/h), with a minimum central
pressure of 922 mb (27.23 inches).

5. They don't even have to be wrong. The cone you see is a cone of uncertainty.

It doesn't necessarily go in the middle of it. So theoretically it can still hit anywhere in that cone.
