Its the biggest push any Republican presidential candidate has made to win Minnesota in recent memory. That reality has energized state Republicans and spooked Democrats.
............................
Trump and Vice President Mike Pence will rally together at Target Center on Thursday night, and Pence will make a stop in Lakeville earlier in the day. Second Lady Karen Pence and the presidents daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, also appeared at a Women for Trump panel discussion at Union Depot in St. Paul on Wednesday night.
Campaign staff and national Republican officials have been here since the beginning of the summer. Trump Victory has trained more than 1,000 Minnesotans to volunteer their time to get the word out to Republican voters. One of those training sessions was held Monday night in Anoka, where several dozen residents were educated inside a banquet room at the Greenhaven Golf Course.
Minnesota DFL Chairman Ken Martin said he has never seen such a concerted Republican effort this early. The DFL Party launched a #MoneyBlizzard fundraising blitz this week in response to the presidents visit, warning supporters that the Trump campaign is staffing up in Minnesota in ways weve never seen before, and frankly we just cant keep up...................

On Tuesday, Frey and Trump threw barbed tweets at each other, with the president accusing the mayor of trying to price out free speech and calling him a lightweight politician.
Yawn, Frey responded. Welcome to Minneapolis where we pay our bills, we govern with integrity, and we love all our neighbors.
The feud stemmed from a push by the city to make the Trump campaign pay $530,000 upfront for security costs for extra officers at the Target Center rally. But AEG, the company that runs Target Center, declined to pass the bill onto the Trump campaign.
As it stands Wednesday, the city looks to foot the security bill, although Frey says hell seek reimbursement for the city.
Meanwhile at Target Center, the Trump campaign has begun to set up for Thursdays rally. The event is expected to draw thousands of supporters, as well as protesters, to downtown Minneapolis.

Minnesota has often been in Trumps Twitter feed in recent months, particularly as hes taken aim at Rep. Ilhan Omar, projecting her and other congresswomen of color as the new face of Democratic politics that he stands against.
Several times, the president has predicted that hell win Minnesota in 2020. In the last election, he narrowly lost the state to Hillary Clinton.

(39,069 posts)a court based on the argument that they can't afford the extra cost of police, security, etc. and that the campaign should at least share the burden with an up front good faith payment.

(510 posts)In city after city, across the nation, Trump has failed to pay local officials who provide thousands of dollars worth of security assistance to the presidents campaign rallies.
In total, at least 10 cities have complained that the campaign has not reimbursed them for services provided by local police and fire departments, totaling more than $840,000, according to a study by the Center for Public Integrity in June. via Politico

That seems to be a very biased, gung-ho piece filled with optimism and projections and rhetorical stumping. Get those dunderheads trained!!! Wow, 1000! Get that word out! He's not a traitor/crook/despot, etc.
Republicans say they see favorable shifts toward Trump in Minnesota. The Trump campaign is staffing up, registering voters and training volunteers to help close the gap.
Republicans say? Well, there you go. It's funny, actually. We know how it goes when they say something. Really now, they hallucinate favorable shifts, all things considered? Yeah, I am so worried about that. Comedy.
