Ukrainian gas executive cooperating in US probe of Giuliani

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal prosecutors are planning to interview an executive with Ukraine's state-owned gas company as part of an ongoing probe into the business dealings of Rudy Giuliani and two of his Soviet-born business associates.
A lawyer for Andrew Favorov confirmed Tuesday that he is scheduled to meet voluntarily with the U.S. Justice Department. Favorov is the director of the integrated gas division at Naftogaz, the state-owned gas provider in Ukraine.
Federal prosecutors in New York are investigating the business dealings of Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, including whether he failed to register as a foreign agent, according to people familiar with the probe. The people were not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Giuliani's close associates, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, were arrested last month at an airport outside Washington while trying to board a flight to Europe with one-way tickets. They were later indicted by federal prosecutors on charges of conspiracy, making false statements and falsification of records.

(11,949 posts)I have no doubt Barr intended to release a report suggesting evidence that Ukraine may well have been behind the whole Russia thing. Not enough evidence to charge people because a trial would get to actual facts. But a report the president could spin like he did with Barrs dishonest early assessment of the Mueller report.
But Rudy has shit in the water Barr was swimming in. Barr knew it the minute he was briefed on the charges against Rudys friends. He knew he could not stop that. Any doctored report now will be throughly investigated. And seen as suspect from the get-go.
So Rudy will pay the price.
No honor among crooks. .

(11,885 posts)This will be easily proven he was committing criminal acts, and he will be indicted , and Barr and trump will threaten him if he indicates he's talking to the prosecutors. Barr is in a world of trouble to as a lot more gets exposed about him and trump. Rudy will just continue doing things to undermine his own case. That's also why he refused to testify. Its just a matter of time before Ghouliani turns on trump and others.
