President Donald Trump hosted a previously undisclosed dinner with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook board member Peter Thiel at the White House in October, the company told NBC News on Wednesday.

The meeting took place during Zuckerberg’s most recent visit to Washington, where he testified before Congress about Facebook’s new cryptocurrency Libra. Zuckerberg also gave a speech at Georgetown University detailing his company’s commitment to free speech, and its resistance to calls for the company to crack down on misinformation in political ads.

Facebook confirmed the meeting to NBC News on Wednesday.

“As is normal for a CEO of a major U.S. company, Mark accepted an invitation to have dinner with the President and First Lady at the White House,” a Facebook spokesperson said in an emailed statement..

It is unclear why the meeting was not made public or what Trump, Zuckerberg and Thiel discussed.

That is the purpose of Facebook.

Well, that and the original purpose, which was for Mark to perv on photos of the girls at his college he did not interact with IRL. But after lots of the perving he realized he could also harvest free data which other people would buy. THEN it became about money instead of wank material.

Why wasn't this dinner previously disclosed? Because its purpose was contrary to our society flourishing. And they knew that, but notably were totally unmoved by that. *That* doesn't enter into their decision-making in the slightest.

11. Peter Thiel is worse than Zuckerburg and Trump combined. He has been funding right wing

and libertarian causes for years. (Including bottom-feeder James O'Keefe) Wrote a book called The Diversity Myth where he stated that "some alleged rapes were seductions that were later regretted" and makes fellow misogynists look like feminists by way of comparison.

I don't think Zuckerberg is in the same league of evil as Trump and Thiel, but I could be wrong.........

easy for me to say, I have never registered on it. People say I'm crazy, but it's of no use to me. There are alternatives. Professionally, Linked In, Twitter. Countless social media platforms. What always gets to me is lack of privacy. Exposing onself to the world because ... why. To connect with people? Digitally? Who needs it?

And that its not about upholding free speech, its about helping Donald out.

And that meeting was a mutual pat on the back, with assurances from Mark that Trump and Putin would be able to carry on unhindered on his platform. Based on his arrogant dismissive attitude towards AOC when questioned about allowing fake news on his sites.

I think we have to just accept that we will have to deal with it in that case, and think of ways to counter it. The only thing I can think of is inundate FB with our own outlandish memes. Not only of Trump and the GOP, but also over the top memes about our own candidates in order to make ALL of them seem unbelievable. "Hunter Biden found to be working with aliens!". Just help to denigrate FB into a seething mass of National Inquirer garbage so that NOTHING is believed on that platform.
