Trump Administration Warned GOP Senators 'Your Head Will Be On A Pike' If They Vote Against Him, 'CBS' Reports
According to a CBS News report, Republican senators have been handed an ominous warning from the Trump administration.
The 53 Republican senators who will be called upon to vote on whether or not to remove Donald Trump from office at the close of his current impeachment trial have received an ominous, behind-the-scenes warning from the Trump administration, according to a report via Twitter by CBS News on Thursday.
That warning? "Vote against the president and your head will be on a pike." CBS News reported that the source who revealed the apparent threat was "a POTUS confidant," in other words, a person close to Trump. So far, no Republican senators have shown public signs of breaking with the party to vote against Trump at any stage of the trial, even prior to the vote on whether to convict Trump and remove him from office. Some GOP senators have attempted to dismiss the entire proceeding as repetitious and boring, according a report by the online magazine Slate.com.

While the exact method by which the Trump administration's "head on a pike" threat was delivered is not known, one top Trump aide, Eric Ueland, told reporters that "the revenge" for the impeachment trial would soon be coming. Ueland said, "I can't wait," for that "revenge" to happen.
The dismissive comments by Republicans who may have been on the receiving end of the Trump administration "head on a pike" warning came shortly before an emotional closing statement for the day, in which lead House impeachment manager Adam Schiff explicitly called for Trump's removal.

(5,144 posts)I think they knew something would happen to trump sooner or later, so they made sure to install the real terror. A theocracy that would redefine this country, (and spell death to people like me. You think the RWNJs are bad, wait till you see the CENJs {crazy evangelical nut jobs}!!)

(17,022 posts)Pence would be guilty of the SAME charge. They (the House) could go after him next. (which they should btw) He will NOT be able to choose a Vice president WITHOUT the House vote. BOTH house vote to approve on the next VP. is my understanding? (could be wrong) So if they remove tRUMP then pence would ALSO be subject to removal. Nancy next in line. So THAT'S why they WILL NOT remove the asshole! So we'll see.

(5,420 posts)I believe there are laws against threatening others with beheading and displaying their severed heads on a pike.
I'm fairly sure if I said that to my neighbor, I'd get a visit from law enforcement.
Seems the Republican senators have to make a choice there. Earn your pay or kiss Trump's boots.
Sounds like neither the Democrats nor Republicans can afford to NOT dump Trump as soon as possible.

(5,144 posts)they will continue to destroy this country in the name of greed while making sure that money is safe offshore and then, at the first sign that there is nothing more to suck from the general public, they will make a hasty retreat to another country and laugh as this one dissolves into ruin. Every flag pin-wearing CEO, owner, and their political cronies should be intensely investigated for white collar crimes, because they are all guilty of at least a few. But, we all know that won't happen...

(15,586 posts)this makes NO sense. It's not like he has been a lifetime politician with a history of deal making and therefore has some dirt on ALL of them. I believe he fancies himself a poker player and this is a bluff. If I'm a Republican senator, I'm going all in and calling that bluff...

(5,144 posts)they know full well what they are doing. They are throwing their lot in with the party that does not want this country to survive as is. They want an oligarchy/theocracy/whatever it takes to make them the powerful for eternity and that no one will ever be able to approach their position. In other words...
They want a monarchy.

My guess is that he'll get it, too. If the DSCC and the DNC aren't already preparing to use those votes in the campaigns of their nominees for Senate in Colorado, Maine, Arizona, North Carolina and Iowa, they're idiots, and I don't think they are.

(11,885 posts)His demands doing illegal acts will escalate, and so will his threats. He's going to keep threatening , and doing things until he's stopped, and he now is trying to bully the military into submission. They'll have to live the rest of their lives being glared at for enabling this criminal, and be held responsible for what he does next. If they all vote for his removal it'll be the only chance they might have of holding their position in Congress, otherwise many will be voted out of office.

(6,196 posts).. revenge. He will be facing all kinds of legal problems that being POTUS has shielded him from.
I would bet his house of cards will start to crumble very quickly. I can't see how he would continue to be useful to Putin and Putin would quickly take the tRump approach. Trump who's that I don't know him. Sure I've had my picture taken with but I get my picture taken with lots of people. Nope don't know him.
Of course on the QT he will remind the now useless puppet that he owes millions if not billions to Putin.
Won't he become a feckless former bully the minute he is found guilty?
One of the additional benefits is that anyone that votes against Trump will be seen in the history books as a hero.
My guess is that the majority of the 53 GOP Senators would like nothing better than getting rid of the tRump cancer.

(9,426 posts)do not count for these willfully ignorant (R)'s. They seem to have forgotten WHO they were elected to represent. Time for changes come November. The repubs. have shown how unfit they are for office. Starting at the "top" with the orange blob of obese matter. His administration is a joke. (13,056 posts)This is a test of these senators' patriotism and courage to do what's right and what they were elected to do. If they don't do what's right it is clear they have given into cowardice and utter disgrace given they are not living up to their oath as senators to uphold the Constitution and protect the country.
