Anxiety in an aging Congress as coronavirus marches across U.S.

Source: NBC

Members of Congress are becoming increasingly anxious about coronavirus, and there is growing pressure on leadership to take steps to protect lawmakers — even potentially recessing for a period of weeks — two Democratic congressional sources said Sunday.

Multiple sources said anxiety was on the rise among lawmakers as more cases are reported and the virus spreads.

Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., said he will close his office in Washington and will self-quarantine at home in Arizona for 14 days after he came into "extended" contact with a person who is hospitalized with COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus. They came into contact at the recent Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, Gosar said.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, announced late Sunday that he will stay home in Texas this week because he had a brief interaction with a person attending CPAC who has tested positive.

Another to AZ for the same

Aren’t they possibly spreading with their travel?
I mean, quarantine in place would be best for everyone

Oh my God.

Let's get this straight:

1. In 2017 they pass a giant tax cut for billionaire parasites.

2. In 2018, the Trump administration FIRES the entire US Pandemic Team to FINANCE this tax cut.

3. Now, the Republican shills for the billionaire parasites are going to 'recess' when we need all hands on deck?

To save their own miserable skins while the rest of America suffers?

I don't want a whole lot of people getting sick, but I think that's exactly what's going to happen. And this just might open up a few eyeballs. One can hope.

I realize we are dealing with a multitude of future Darwin Award winners, but my gosh, somebody in that gene pool has to have a brain. Maybe? Am I hoping too much?

Should I just go back to eating lots of chocolate ice cream?

Sure, go self quarantine for two weeks.

At the end of the two weeks, walk out the front door. By then every second person you meet will have viruses they'd like to share with you.

Now, self quarantine until the pandemic tapers off and a vaccine is developed, might work better. Say, 12 to 18 months?

It's a pandemic. Going to go on for a very long time.

Anyone want to lay bets on how many new members of congress will be needed to fill the gaps of the recently departed once the pandemic ends?

They have no constructive plans of any kind, and none in their ranks have leadership abilities. They only know how to bow and scrape to the highest bidder.

They know how to demolish and interfere with working systems but have no clue at all how to make anything work or solve problems that do not include the term NO!
