Source: CNBC

The White House is inviting Wall Street executives to discuss the response to the new coronavirus outbreak, an administration official told CNBC. President Donald Trump is expected to attend the meeting, which is scheduled to be held Wednesday. Invitations were being sent out as of Monday afternoon, the official told CNBC.

The meeting was arranged amid a punishing market rout spurred by fears about the impact of the coronavirus. The plummeting S&P index forced a trading halt early in Monday’s session, as coronavirus fears gripped global industries and plunging oil prices deepened the strain on the market.

The Trump administration’s coronavirus task force, led by Vice President Mike Pence, has scrambled to respond as more Americans test positive for the disease. White House aides are set to meet with Trump and present economic stimulus ideas to him after he returns to Was

On Tuesday, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow are set to brief Senate Republicans at a lunch event on the administration’s economic options, NBC News reported, citing a senior GOP leadership aide.

A trip to the welfare office is a good idea now for those kings/queens who apply to the Dear Leader for help. They need it more than we do, so let's hope it is a regular and copious amount of public assistance.

People from Congress are now isolating themselves. It's shown up at a D.C. church. There's no reason for them to expose themselves to the risk since, in the end, they can't do much about how trading goes. IMO, the crash is more a reaction to Trump's blatant incompetence than any illness.

... will only benefit the top 10%, who already own about 70% of our national assets.

Heaven forbid they do anything that would actually boost things -- like putting money into the hands of those who need it most. (You know, the people who are guaranteed to spend it, which puts money into the hands of the people they are buying from... and so on, thus multiplying the effect.) Fast infusion by boosting social safety nets to a level that actually HELPS. Institute a wealth tax to fund bold programs (they are losing a lot more right now than they would gain by actually contributing dollars to things to make the economy work for more of us). Train for better paying jobs. Fund big infrastructure projects. Fund college to boost income potential. Forgive debt. Cap interest rates for consumer credit at a reasonable number....

But you all know this...

The stock market is dropping because the Trump Admin is focused on the stock market and PR instead of epidemiology and health care resources and public health emergency actions.

I suspect he'll try to bully them into doing things to rig the market numbers so he can claim he's succeeding , by promoting more lies. The threats and accusations will be coming if they won't do illegal things to protect him. It'll be corrupt whatever he wants to do. He'll threaten to hurt them if they don't do as he says.
