Italy coronavirus deaths rise 25% to 1,809

MILAN (Reuters) - Italy recorded 368 new deaths from the COVID-19 outbreak on Sunday as the total rose to 1,809 from 1,441 a day earlier, the country’s civil protection authority said on Sunday.

The number of positive cases rose to 24,747 from 21,157 a day earlier as Europe’s worst outbreak of the deadly virus continued to expand.

I'm not usually in the conspiratorial frame of mind, but it did occur to me.

number of people 50 and older.
I would actually become more concerned if mutated again and began to hit those younger even worse but thankfully that has not yet happened and hopefully never will.

Of course they will have to do some things like suspend companies from collecting on bills for that month includings like rent, mortgages and car loans but they can mitigate that by giving tax deferments to those effected.

And reportedly they are not treating or even screening people over age 65 now due to lack of capacity. Last statistics I found said that 98.9% of their total deaths where from people age 60 and older.

the median age in Italy is 10 years higher than the US and is the oldest population in Europe. This is important due to the spike in mortality in the older age groups.
