Trump-endorsed news outlet says it's God's "judgment" that a gay activist died from coronavirus

The site's publisher was one of the first to say the coronavirus was part of God's plan to kill sinners and that Christianity will protect people from the virus.

Richard Weber Jr., who was a member of the LGBT Bar Association of New York, passed away last week from coronavirus at age 57.
To most people, this is a tragedy. But to Rick Wiles of the website TruNews, its reason to celebrate.
Wiles made national headlines earlier this year when his website got White House press credentials. The site is known for its extreme anti-Semitism, homophobia, and disregard for facts.
And now Wiles said on his webcast that Webers death is part of Gods judgment because Weber fought for LGBTQ equality.
He was a senior lawyer for the LGBT Bar Association of New York, Wiles said. The lawyers who sue churches, the lawyers who sue ministries................................

It is so shameful that trump allows a man like this to have WH press credentials.

(4,150 posts)and end up on the ventilator. I'm a nurse, and we generally sedate patients and restrain them while on the vent as it prevents them from pulling out the tube.
As far as Ass Wipe Wiles is concerned, we would simply intubate that motherfucker and let him just sit on the vent with NO sedation while restrained. I would have ZERO problem with that.
I am absolutely BEYOND any kind of fucking homophobia. I may be a little sensitive to this, as I CLEARLY remember those repig motherfuckers during the AIDS crisis. I will NEVER forgive them.

Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
Book of James 4:14.
My belief is that death is God calling us home. Your belief may well differ, that's ok. In the end we are all mists in time.
Also as a stark reminder this hearse ... We don't know when we will be its passenger in the back... in a box...

How these hypocrites manage to ignore so fundamental a teaching in their holy book as "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" baffles me.

(36,803 posts)If death is 'God's judgement' for gayness, then gay evangelists and gay conservatives still living shows that gay lifestyle is ok with God for them.
Ted Haggard and Ed Schrock are still alive after all these years.

(6,831 posts)Whenever a sickness erupts or a natural disaster strikes, it's always the will of some invisible, supernatural, superstitious sky person wreaking havoc on gay people because they deserve it. What tripe.
That ANYONE in the 21st century is still mouthing this garbage is sickening.
If I remember my scripture correctly, we are ALL "god's children."
If you believe in "god" at all, one of your beliefs is that "god" doesn't make mistakes.

(17,913 posts)It doesn't believe in anything. It just replicates. That's all it does. And one hunk of human flesh is just as good as the next. Sorry, but I just can't wrap my brain around people thinking..."magic!"... will save them. Faith didn't save them from plague, small pox, cholera, yellow fever and on and on and it wont save them now. Religious people die at the same damn rate as everyone else. Sometimes at higher rates depending on their practices. Seriously...how many times does faith have to fail catastrophically before humans finally wise up?

(13 posts)I'm an anarchist and by definition an atheist so I will have trouble with the majority of people's positions on this site but I can no longer stand by and watch what is happening without comment. I thought there was a way to introduce myself to the community but I cannot find it so I picked a post to comment on that reflects my abhorrence for the ignorant among us.
The most repellent thing about this current tragedy is that it will be used by the religious community to justify the continuance of superstition and repression in the pursuit of human suppression.
The inevitable potential proclamation of "victory" over this disease on Easter Sunday is in keeping with the worship of death which is the chief characteristic of monotheistic religion.
Regrettably, I exist on a primitive, backward planet infected by a filthy species of sapient beings that murders its own kind for pleasure.
You know, that's incorrect. Actually, the planet is quite advanced, it has an ecosystem that supports life, the only planet in the known universe that does so.
The only thing primitive about this planet is that it is the unfortunate host to the disgusting race of so-called "human" filth that infects it.

You see goodness in the world. Focus on the goodness and let the others fade away.

Be well, and welcome to the forum.
