Dr. Anthony Fauci warns US could 'be in for a bad fall' if coronavirus treatments don't work

Source: CNBC

The United States “could be in for a bad fall” if researchers don’t find an effective treatment to fight the coronavirus by then, White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said Tuesday.

The virus will certainly make a comeback in the U.S. even as cases begin to stabilize, Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, said during an interview with The Economic Club of Washington, D.C.

Covid-19 is “not going to disappear from the planet,” he said, adding infectious disease experts are learning about how the virus behaves by watching emerging outbreaks in other regions such as southern Africa that are starting to enter their colder seasons.

“In my mind, it’s inevitable that we will have a return of the virus, or maybe even that it never went away,” he said.

...and a blowout fourth quarter.

I guess there was an "oh by the way"...the vaccine would need to come through a year ahead of schedule for that to pan out.

they are grasping at anything. Yes scientists all over the world are working overtime looking for a treatment but it takes time to insure it is safe and effective. It is not going to happen as fast as we want it to. At least not one that is safe.

Nor did it apparently cross the mind of the editor of the piece, or he/she would probably have thought to capitalize it. . . . I would hope.

I get the distinct impression the good doctor is no fan of Trump. Some will undoubtedly say if that was the case, then the honorable thing for him to do would be to resign. Some of those folks probably voted for Jill Stein last time around too.

Maybe he's saving any resignation for a place and time it where it will have the most impact and in the meantime just try to do as little harm as possible and compel as many others as possible to do likewise? I mean, that's what I'd do were I in his position.

Because once you quit or get fired from that Cabal, you're only ever replaced by someone even worse. In some cases way, way worse.
