Exclusive: Internal Chinese report warns Beijing faces Tiananmen-like global backlash over virus

BEIJING (Reuters) - An internal Chinese report warns that Beijing faces a rising wave of hostility in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak that could tip relations with the United States into confrontation, people familiar with the paper told Reuters.

The report, presented early last month by the Ministry of State Security to top Beijing leaders including President Xi Jinping, concluded that global anti-China sentiment is at its highest since the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown, the sources said.

As a result, Beijing faces a wave of anti-China sentiment led by the United States in the aftermath of the pandemic and needs to be prepared in a worst-case scenario for armed confrontation between the two global powers, according to people familiar with the report’s content, who declined to be identified given the sensitivity of the matter.

The report was drawn up by the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), a think tank affiliated with the Ministry of State Security, China’s top intelligence body.

Reuters has not seen the briefing paper, but it was described by people who had direct knowledge of its findings.

Make America Safe Again

The Ministry of State Security told Chinese leaders that they need to prepare for armed confrontation between the United States and China. Major Reuters scoop -- and one published without a byline, an indication of just how sensitive the information is.

virus secret in order to do so.
Other than that they are not responsible for the virus itself because shit like this does and will happen and that includes them not being honestly at fault if the virus escaped one of their labs either or atleast that is my opinion.

I'm not trying to be snarky with you. It's Gaetz going off half-cocked as usual who's the issue.

and they should be. Trump is embarrassed, humiliated and a wounded leader going into an election. He is angry and sees china as the reason for his predicament. Trump still rules over the number one military in the world. Xi should be a bit nervous.

There’s a reason Truman did not go to war with China in the Korean War.

Most of my family and friends work for the big tech firms (Apple, google, twitter, fb). Lots of ties being cut and projects being pulled out of China. My work in China has been 100% bought back to bay. I’m afraid company heads may know or see the writing on the wall about pending conflict. Buckle up folks!

To chip away at decades of mistrust and paranoia. To work together as human beings.

But no. We have a Sudafed-addled roid-rage moron in the White House looking for a scapegoat because his poll numbers are dipping.

One idiot Trump voter said why he voted for Trump: “I felt we needed a change”

Trump voters who were smart enough to know better should be guilty of treason for knowingly voting for someone who was clearly too incompetent to be the leader of this country, and who has ties to a country who has a history of being an enemy of the United States.
