Coronavirus cases are on the rise across the South

Source: Axios

Several Southern states are seeing a rise in new coronavirus cases, moving them further away from an important target for safely reopening parts of their economies.

Why it matters: The Trump administration's reopening guidelines call for a consistent decline in new cases before proceeding with the process — and some states are proceeding even without clearing that threshold.

Between the lines: The total number of cases is an important piece of the puzzle — but it's only one piece.

The number of new cases will rise as a state performs more testing, so looking at this metric in isolation can give the false impression of a worsening outbreak.

Hey, no testing, no masks, no distancing and no tracing is a formula for more blue voters in those red states well before November.

I'm a believer that our D-pals in the South and Midwest are smart enough to practice all the safety measures the CDC, not Trumpy, has been outlining for months. If the MAGAT's fail to heed the advice, well, let's see if their gamble pays off, eh?

Doturd is encouraging his base to get sick and die needlessly due to his stupidity.

They were testing 250 a day and now 0. This is at the same time FL strips 2000 people from its number of cases, making us appear healtheir than is real. Fucking repugs are doing their very best to kill off the working class/poor.

Case numbers will vary depending on how many people you're testing. We do NEED high testing.

Where I am in GA, our hospital has reported their stats every day since early April. This week was the first time we are in single digits. Thats GREAT news. Its been going down for a few weeks now.
Lets hope that continues.

Almost all people entering a hospital now with respiratory problems are getting a test and they can link Covid to hospital admissions directly. That is the best gauge as well as the ICU admissions.

In spite of all the bickering about masks, social distancing, opening businesses, etc, we are all in a very much different place, at least in awareness, than when this was starting.
