Gingrich calls for super PAC supporting him to pull anti-Bain commercials

Gingrich calls for super PAC supporting him to pull anti-Bain commercials
posted by scottpowers on January, 13 2012 1:13 PM

Saying he does not want false claims made on his behalf, Republican presidential contender Newt Gingrich Friday morning called on the super PAC that supports him to withdraw commercials it is running in South Carolina criticizing Mitt Romney and his old company, Bain Capital.

Gingrich made the call to a crowd of supporters at his new Orlando campaign headquarters, saying there is no way he can legally contact Winning Our Future to make the request directly.

Winning Our Future aired a 29-minute commercial fashioned from a political documentary accusing Romney and Bain of making millions from taking over companies and then laying off employees. The film includes clips of some laid-off employees complaining that the venture capital and private equity firm wreaked economic havoc on their small towns. Some of the employees interviewed said they hadn’t realized their comments would be used to refer to Bain.

He knew he'd have to back down when limpballs trashed him for those Bain ads. Sad to see but it just confirms suspicions about who is in charge in republican world. And it isn't the tea party or anybody associated with it. It's the same old big money Wall Street corporate country club dudes. And the hicks have been played for suckers yet again.

"I think we should have somebody who wants to be president ought to have the courage to stand up for the truth, and ought to be prepared to say if something is false."

....we thought that was you, brother Newt....
