Source: CNBC
Faucis comments come after some have claimed a new CDC update indicates only 6% of the nations total reported Covid-19 deaths actually died from the virus, and the remaining percent died of other serious illnesses.

(8,020 posts)9000 deaths bs.
This is always such a stupid f*cking argument!
Someone has high blood pressure (or whatever), they get Covid, then they die. For political purposes these morons try to argue that the person died b/c of the high blood pressure, not b/c of the Covid. Funny the high blood pressure never killed them until Covid came along.

(1,301 posts)His death certificate read, acute renal failure, due to lymphoma. He would never have had renal failure, if he did not have lymphoma.
Its the same with this disease, the eminent cause of death may be respiratory failure, or stroke, but it was caused by Covid. The person wouldnt have had to have a previous underlying condition to have more than one cause written on their death certificate. It stands to reason, very few death certificates would just say Covid.

(11,306 posts)The U.S. has pretty good figures for mortality, month by month going back for a long number of years. The U.S. is seeing a quantifiable increase in deaths over the expected (or predictable) week after week since the pandemic took hold in March. Excess deaths.

Please explain where these excess numbers are coming from -- if not SARS-CoV2. We'll wait.

(Oh -- and please try to tell me how the scientist have been trying to "politicize the data" -- for the last 30 or 40 years)
Again, we'll wait.

(2,888 posts)One of them (a conspiracy-wielding science denier) groused about deaths in her state being classified as from coronavirus even if they had a positive test result on autopsy, even if they died from an unrelated cause. I told her that states and local health departments try to remove ambiguity, but there always will be some ambiguity on a case-by-case basis. Excess deaths tells the real story.
