Congresswoman blocked from touring mail facility by Postal Service police

Source: NBC News

U.S. Postal Service police barred Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz from entering two mail sorting facilities in Florida in the early morning hours on Friday, threatening to escort her from the property if she didn't leave.

The Florida Democrat, who sits on the House Oversight Committee, said she aimed to inspect a mail plant in Opa-locka and Northwest Miami-Dade. Wasserman Schultz said union members told her about conditions at the processing centers and shared pictures that showed pallets of undelivered mail marked with a receipt date of "July 23."

Her office said those photos were sent to them earlier this week and raise further questions about how the Postal Service is being run under the leadership of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, a close ally of President Donald Trump. NBC News was not able to independently verify the photo of the reportedly undelivered mail.

“If DeJoy thinks he can just throw a bed sheet over what’s going on behind these doors, he is sadly mistaken. It looked like the post master had something to hide,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement. “Without access to these public facilities, the public is blindfolded to the problems or fixes taking place there. DeJoy cannot delay the mail and delay oversight of these facilities.”

do about those larger problems until Joe is President.

If you requested a ballot and it doesn't come because of the mail chicanery, go to the polling place on election day and fill out a provisional ballot. If it does come, complete it and drop it off in person at a designated drop off site.

Trump is setting up the Post Office specifically to create that chaos. So if you can, avoid the Post Office when casting your ballot.

If you go to any post office you will see a side door that goes to a stair case and is only accessible by postal inspectors.

If you go inside the sorting area inside the post office you will see a walled off walk space at the top all around the inside with see through mirror slots so that they can view the inside of any post office undetected.

I was doing a 5 min briefing at a a post office in El Cajon and they arrested one of the carriers. Turns out that he was stealing Christmas presents of grandparents to their grandkids when they would put in cash or gift cards.

They had some reports one year so the next year they sent some fake cards w cash and he stole them.

otherwise the mail would be compromised.

It would be nice if rules were made for exceptions like congressional officials but there aren’t.

Did you actually read the article? DWS office notified the PO that they would be coming to observe the PO at 1:30 PM the previous day. I'd say that the PO didn't allow her in because it wasn't enough time to hide the huge piles of mails that they didn't want her to see.
