. . . Warren also said he was injured when he went outside to see what was going on. He said he was talking to an officer about the impact the gas was having on his son when another officer came up and hit him, giving him a concussion.

“He was actually listening to me. He was taking the time to listen, like, oh okay, this is a neighbor,” said Warren. “And the other one just hit me.”

He said he was hit from behind on the back of his head. Warren said it took a minute for him to realize he was bleeding from his ear and said he kept trying to explain that this was his home and he wasn’t a protester. “I’m screaming at them like, ‘I’m not part of the protest!’ Like, ‘You guys were in my neighborhood,'” he said.

Warren said he needed stitches and spent several hours in the hospital overnight, but that the worst part was the impact it had on his son and his son’s friend.

“Hearing both of them screaming…it’s like, my son and his friend should even have to go through none of that. We were just sitting in our house, we weren’t part of anything,” said Warren.

1. CS gas needs to be banned

Police departments have no business using that shit on civilians.

Gas has been banned on the battlefield and it needs to be banned in cities. I don't give a shit how convenient police forces who have bought into the fiction that they're an occupying army and civilians are therefore all insurgents find it. It has no place in cities, especially in residential areas and there is no way to keep it away from residential areas once it has been fired.

Nixon is dead. His policy of militarizing the cops to get around Posse Comitatus should have died a long time ago. Unfortunately, conservatives from both parties who have been governing against the will of the people for decades have found it expedient.

7. Yes - this is how the media "selectively" uses or omits "race" in their articles

in order to gloss over what is going on that would give context to what is being reported.

Portland is less than 6% black meaning the vast majority of protestors there are white. Yet this black family, who represent a tiny percentage of the city's population, has been negatively impacted by police use of hazardous substances around their home, and get physically assaulted if they show their faces.

It's Pavlovian. They are trained that way. See black face? OMG "other". Neutralize "threat". Maim or kill.

I suppose that cop will claim some "self-defense" bullshit.
