Military leaders asked about using heat ray on protesters outside White House: report

Source: The Hill

The military police officer with jurisdiction over the Washington, D.C., region inquired about whether the D.C. National Guard had access to a military heat ray for use against protesters in June, according to emails obtained by NPR.

Major Adam DeMarco of the D.C. National Guard told the House Committee on Natural Resources that the Provost Marshal of Joint Force Headquarters National Capital Region copied him on an email, seeking an Active Denial System (ADS). The ADS is designed to heat human targets using millimeter wave technology, according to NPR. Both its effectiveness and the ethics of using it have been controversial since its development decades ago.

The Provost Marshal’s email stated that the "ADS can provide our troops a capability they currently do not have, the ability to reach out and engage potential adversaries at distances well beyond small arms range.

The device "provides a sensation of intense heat on the surface of the skin. The effect is overwhelming, causing an immediate response by the targeted individual,” he added.

The email chain was sent hours before officers deployed tear gas and smoke grenades against protesters in Lafayette Square. After the square was cleared, President Trump was photographed holding a Bible in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

What level of war were the conservatives talking about when they said they were at war with liberal America?

We don't have to guess. War is literally war.

So it's not easy to see how easily it can be used at all on city streets. Besides, it doesn't work through heavy clothes, can't be targeted to individuals or small groups (roasts a lot background people) and it's possible that an aluminum foil suit can foil it.

Its radio waves. And whether or not it should have been used in THIS instance aside, it doesnt harm the individuals. Unlike rubber bullets & gas

wavelengths. RADAR is another use of radio waves.

True, this thing causes less physical damage than most alternatives, but the Army classified why they never used it in Afghanistan, so we don't know what they may have found. Some have theorized that it damages the operators, who are exposed to it far more than its targets. Combat portable radar and microwave radio arrays have been known to cause cataracts and possibly cancers to the operators.

Someone replied that there was some rule against it being used domestically but I don’t have much faith in this administration following the rules. I think if trump knew about it, he’d suggest using it.

Asshole to think microwaving or radiowaving people into submission is ok at any level.

Sometimes people's awfulness not only pisses me off but leaves me disparing and. Most non lethal weapons are still weapons with one use to injure, traumatize or hurt to make people submit to another's dominating will.

Are they just waiting for the RW coup in this country to be complete after NOV 3 so they can come down on the side of the Reichwing and start microwaving us all who protest the coup?
