Republican senators say they will vote for Trump's nominee, no matter who it is or what that person believes.
Nearly every single vulnerable Republican senator up for reelection this fall came out to say they will vote for Donald Trump's nominee to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court -- even though the senators do not know who the nominee is nor what the eventual pick's positions are.
Sens. Cory Gardner of Colorado, Martha McSally or Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, David Perdue of Georgia, and Kelly Loeffler of Georgia all said they will vote for Trump's pick.
With those votes, Graham said on Fox News Monday night that the GOP has a majority and will move forward with the confirmation before the election.
"We've got the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg's replacement before the election," Graham told Sean Hannity Monday, adding that he will move the nominee -- whoever it may be -- to the floor "so we can vote before the election."

If anyone was watching O'Donnell last night he explained the only option to stop this from happening it starts in the House with Pelosi.....................

And if you live in Maryland you can vote early, starting October 26, 2020 thru Nov 2, 2020

The only solace I take in all of this madness is that they must truly fear an epic defeat in November

(26,760 posts)There isn't a required vote to begin hearings on a nominee and she isn't on the Judiciary Committee.
So the first time that she will be forced to express her supposed opposition to filling the seat now... will be at the actual vote.

(13,059 posts)she only said that after she was sure that there would be enough votes to put Trump's nominee through anyway in spite of her vote.

(162 posts)I live in North Carolina and early voting begins Thursday, October 15. Unless the polls are clogged I will vote that day; otherwise I will vote the first day lines slow. If they don't slow, I'll vote anyway and take my chances!
If I hadn't seen so much already I wouldn't believe how low the republican suckers will go.

(127 posts)Arizona Early Voting Starts October 7th, 2020. My household is voting via mail-in ballot, then walkng them in to drop off the next day. We live minutes from a polling station, so why wait, and would rather do so in person. I doubt there will be anyone there attempting voter intimidation, but I wish a MF would.
Bye-bye to useless mcsally. She has failed to do anything constructive in this area, and has been MIA and/or refuses to meet with constituents.

(132 posts)Once Biden is president and the dems have the Senate I am praying they will have the cojones to abolish the 60 vote rule AND increase the number of Justices on the Supreme Court to 13. I do believe we need more as I hate the idea that one Justice has the power to swing the decisions so easily.

(26,319 posts)can ram through the changes we want when we have the majority with a Democrat as President such as a 13 seat SCOTUS which means we could have the majority back in under a year.

At the country's founding -- let's call it originaltimes -- only moneyed white men were considered American. Everyone else was a subject or property of someone else.
