Kyle Rittenhouse makes first court appearance the day after his mother, lawyer got standing ovation

Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old charged with fatally shooting two people and injuring a third during unrest last month in Kenosha, has become a cause célèbre among conservatives and some gun-rights groups.

His lawyers have talked widely about his case and even played a recording of him thanking supporters who have contributed more than $1 million to his defense. Meanwhile, video of Rittenhouse talking, running, shooting and trying to surrender to police amid a night of chaos has been widely shared across the internet.

But Rittenhouse himself hasn't been seen or heard from much since he surrendered to authorities Aug. 26 in his hometown of Antioch, Illinois.

On Friday morning, he is scheduled to have his first court hearing in Lake County, Illinois, on the status of his extradition to face the Wisconsin charges.

Even if he's convicted of 1rst-degree murder, (which I doubt, they will go for 2nd or lighter,) his appeals and parole hearings will be making the news repeatedly.

Or is that not a possibility due to state charges (I hope).

Or offer him a few months on a weapons violation.

I'd say he'll be more of a Joe the Plumber type.

enforcement real, he'd have a love of justice rather than merely a firearm fetish with murderous fantasies.

the murderer of Heather Heyer during the Charleston white racist riot. May this little POS never be able to enjoy life again. Every morning when he wakes up all he needs to see is bars. But this POS will walk free in one manner or another I am not going to be surprised. Breonna Taylor, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Trayvon Martin-precedent setter, by the way, George Floyd, Micheal Brown and I could literally go on and on from the time I remember my parents talking about the poor Till boy and what those racists had done to him. And the goddamn kicker, the woman he allegedly "disrespected" recanted her testimony recently.

AmeriKKKa is what trump and the GOPers want.

From the Chicago Tribune -

“Kyle Rittenhouse’s attorneys said Friday morning that they plan to fight his return to Wisconsin to face charges alleging he fatally shot two people and wounded a third during protests in Kenosha last month.
Defendants sometimes waive their right to fight extradition, but a lawyer for the 17-year-old from Antioch told Lake County Judge Paul Novak during an online hearing that they want further proceedings in Illinois to contest that process.”

Once he shot the first man in the head, he had no more right of self-defense in flight than any bank-robber or mugger.

He'll get off on self-defense over it, they died unnecessarily especially since cops were only literally minutes away and could've taken care of the situation instead

I repeat, he had no right of self-defense against citizens seeking to apprehend a man fleeing the scene of a felony. In that situation, a citizen has the right to use deadly force.

What those attempting to do their lawful duty as citizens was, I agree, foolhardy. But it is the sort of thing they pass out medals in combat....

was the unwillingness of right wing police, prosecutors and judges--holdovers from the Kaiser's regime--to hold the perpetrators of right wing violence accountable. FreiKorps death squads and political assassinations of leftists and liberals became an accepted thing, normalizing the brown shirts and emboldening RWNJs

Hitler himself--who tried to overthrow with violence the established and elected government, served less than a year in prison, and even then he was allowed unlimited access to visitors and other perks that no left winger convicted of treason and sedition would ever dream of.

It's frightening to think how far down that road we've gone already.
