A member of the British Parliament on Tuesday announced he has nominated Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“When others have resorted to violent solutions, [Biden] has argued that the best force is the force of argument,” Chris Bryant, a member of the Labour Party, told the Standard. “Because guns can stop a heart but well-placed words can change many hearts, and many hearts can change a world.”

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other peace prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde said in 2020, citing the U.S.-brokered deal normalizing relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

So far, 318 people and entities have been nominated for the 2020 prize, the fourth-highest number ever.

this entire Nobel Peace Prize endeavor is losing validity IMO. I love Biden, but he's no Gandhi, Dr. King, etc. He talks common sense but I honestly don't see any more results than Trump (which is none to negligible). A Peace Prize should go to someone who stopped two or more countries from killing each other via the theater of war. It's that easy: peace is the opposite of war.

Trump never should have been nominated to begin with. The Israel-Bahrein/UAE are commercial trade agreements, not enforceable promises not to go to war with Israel. If there were a Nobel Commerce Prize (there isn't), then Trump *could* have been nominated in theory.

I'm trying to be fair. I would love for Trump to lose the election to Biden, have Biden win the 2021 Peace Prize, and Trump goes into an epic fit. But that's me, not the purpose of the awarding of the Peace Prize.

and many not under control of the organization. That allows a great diversity of candidates (and some that are a joke). That doesn't invalidate the whole endeavor IMHO. Maybe it's not a bug but a feature. If the winners start being political and special interest tokens and lackys then thats a problem. But have not as far as I'm concerned and the nomination process brings great exposure to many deserving and otherwise under covered people and issues that I believe is a benefit.

a leader, but what do we lead now? Trump has absolved America of any global responsibility for world peace, health or the climate. Trump trashes science, and international relationships, while hero-worshipping dictators, With his fascist ambitions, he is seen as unstable and a threat to us all. Four more years of this (or longer if Trump has his way) would be very dark times for the entire planet. In my book, any one person who is poised to defeat that deserves the highest honors.

Look at that expression on his face, so...sweet...humble...calm and sharing...better than any formal portrait.

Nobel nominations are sealed for 50 years. This is an attempt to troll Trump for bragging about his nominations, and the millions of his minions repeating the story.

And yes, it is delicious from where I view it. 😂😂
