White House chief of staff: 'We are not going to control the pandemic'

Source: CNN

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said Sunday that the US is "not going to control" the coronavirus pandemic, as cases surge across the country and nearly 225,000 Americans have died from the virus.

"We are not going to control the pandemic. We are going to control the fact that we get vaccines, therapeutics and other mitigation areas," Meadows told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."

Pressed by Tapper on why the US isn't going to get the pandemic under control, Meadows said: "Because it is a contagious virus just like the flu." He added that the Trump administration is "making efforts to contain it."

"What we need to do is make sure that we have the proper mitigation factors, whether it's therapies or vaccines or treatments to make sure that people don't die from this," Meadows said.

The more people get sick, the higher the demand, thus all those republicans who are heavily investing in a few drug companies working on a vaccine must make sure their investments pay heavy returns.

Vincent Bugliosi put Charles Manson in jail for life, not for physically committing the murders himself, but for planning them, for being the brain behind the executions, and that is the law that should be used against these republican criminals. In Bugliosi's book "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder" he explains in detail how to use the law, and the way I see it (I am not a lawyer, but did read the book, and stayed at a Holiday Inn ), the scenario is the same and a good lawyer should be able to use the same law against trump, Pence, and all the enablers. When you come down to it, this is a conspiracy to allow people to die, this is the plan they came up with and by trump telling Woodward he did it on purpose you have a confession directly from the criminal's own mouth.

What astonishes me is how many people readily believe that he cares about them or put any effort whatsoever into a response. Herd immunity was the plan all along, though it was more like thinning the herd and thickening their own wallets, as you noted.

The ironic part is that his supporters are more likely to be affected than those of us who don't support him.

COVID. they were going to use ebola but it got stopped in congo. limbaugh and sons were already telling all that congolese were coming across in the mexico caravans. trump is stupid enough to think COVID compared with ebola.

as usual, democrats could have known what trumps 'strategy' was just by listening to limbaugh once in a while.

trump coordinates with limbaugh and he telegraphed the strategy early on with complete denial saying it was a dem hoax, like global warming, to force socialist solutions (taxing corporations and billionaires)- then pivoting to it's just a cold, we have to open up and masks are political attacks on trump.

before he croaks dems need to investigate the connection, get limbaugh under oath where he can lie as usual but at east it would put it out there - and they all need to be charged with getting thousands killed, as you say. the evidence is all over limbaugh's transcripts.

The Trump administration allowed a trash fire to explode into a forest fire and then they bewail the inability to be able to put it out. That said, by the end of the first week of the Biden administration, they will be screaming, "Why hasn't he defeated the virus?"

"The term “flatten the curve,” originating from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (26), has been used widely to describe the effects of social distancing interventions. Our results highlight how the timing of social distancing interventions can affect the epidemic curve. In our model, interventions put in place and lifted early in the epidemic only delayed the epidemic and did not flatten the epidemic curve. When an intervention was put in place later, we noted a flattening of the epidemic curve." Apr 21, 2020

They're not controlling a damned thing, including that man baby sitting in the Oval Office. They're just letting this thing spread and kill and hoping none of us notices that they're not doing a damned thing about it.

There should be field hospitals in counties with extreme outbreaks. There should be facilities for quarantine for people who either don't have homes or can't risk exposing people in them. There should be basic HEALTH CARE that doesn't bankrupt us for getting ill. There needs to be support for families that are risking losing everything because their jobs went away. And their billionaire buddies need to be forced to cough up the taxes they haven't paid for years.

Face it, they don't give a flying fornication about anyone in this country but the billionaires and their holy stock market.
