U.S. records more than 90,000 Covid-19 cases in one day for the first time

Source: MSN

The United States set yet another pandemic record with more than 90,000 new Covid-19 cases reported in a single day, the latest NBC News tally showed Friday.

The new benchmark of 90,456 cases was hit Thursday just hours after the U.S. logged its 9 millionth coronavirus case and shattered the previous daily record of 80,662 infections, set a day earlier.

Also, the 540,035 new Covid-19 cases reported from last Friday, Oct. 23, to Thursday was the most for any seven-day period since July, the figures showed.

And with Election Day now just days away, the grim numbers stood in sharp contrast to President Donald Trump's oft-repeated campaign claim that "we are rounding the turn" on the pandemic.

...with internal circulation. I have gradually re-stocked on goods to avoid another rush on disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer if the spread continues to grow as we head into winter.

The sick thing is that Trump and Republicans continue to politicize taking any steps to control the spread. The only time they are concerned about social distancing is when they see protest against the latest police killing.

how trump keeps saying we are rounding the corner on the virus. Well he is kind of right. We are rounding the corner to higher numbers of new cases and deaths😢😢😢. I hate this man so much. My parents have had Covid and survived this time. They live in a nursing home and in the last month it has become much worse at their nursing home. The health department or state have come in several times now and from what they are seeing (the health department) they say they are following all the protocols and are doing the best they can. The other nursing homes in the area are not doing any better, so I know it’s not just this one. This county I am in and some of the surrounding ones are seeing the number of cases going up. Three of the high schools in our area have had to forfeit the rest of their season because of Covid cases among the players. So sure right we’re rounding the corner—NOT!!!!!

not rounding the corner. The only corner we are rounding is to higher numbers of people WITH Covid and HIGHER number of deaths.
