McConnell says Congress will take up stimulus package at start of 2021

Source: The Hill

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) says he expects Congress to move another coronavirus relief package “right at the beginning” of 2021, breaking from Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who told reporters Thursday she wants to get a deal in the lame-duck session.

“We probably need to do another package, certainly more modest than the $3 trillion Nancy Pelosi package. I think that’ll be something we’ll need to do right at the beginning of the year,” McConnell told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Friday.

“We could target it particularly at small businesses that are struggling, and hospitals that are now dealing with the second wave of the coronavirus, and of course the challenges for education, both K-12 and college,” the GOP leader said.

McConnell offered a slower timeline than other lawmakers, who expect a deal to move after the election but before the end of the year or before the end of President Trump’s first term in January.

needs help now. More businesses esp. Restaurants and bars are closing again with no help. The little independent businesses need help now. The big chains with drive thru service seem to be busier than ever. They are going to stop obeying orders stay open and cause more infection. Evil prick.

The idea seems to be to do nothing for as long as possible, while pretending that you are in favor of doing something. If McConnell actually wanted to support the economy, he could have passed a stimulus bill months ago. Instead he has been waiting to see how the election comes out. If Trump wins, McConnell would quickly find a way to get his conference to support more stimulus. But now that it looks like Trump loses, the idea is to let the economy slide into ruin early in Biden's first term. Can't reveal the plan just yet, because that might turn off Trump supporters prior to the elect. So you have to squeek out concerned noises. But when Congress begins to debate another stimulus bill next year, the Republicans will do as much as they can to make sure that little gets done. They will run the deficit scam, scream about socialism, and talk about the character-building effects of pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps without any dependency inducing, character degrading help from the government. All the usual lies and intransigence, promulgated to manufacture and sustain a Biden depression, slow-walk the recovery, and stretch dissatisfaction with the economy into 2024.

20. Kentucky must retire this relic
Sat Oct 31, 2020, 06:37 AM
Oct 2020

Kentucky has the opportunity to enter the 21st century by retiring this relic and every other elected that persists in keeping 1950's socio-economic ideologies alive. McConnell does not possess the inquisitiveness required of any US Senator. He is a single issue partisan. That issue is GOP power retention. Using any means, including manipulation of legislative rules and processes to avoid the main issues all American agree upon, he has restricted solutions to major issues by avoiding debate amongst Senators.

Kentucky does not prefer obstructionists, like it did in it's racist past.

It is time for McConnell to be retired. He will not retire voluntarily, he must be voted out of office.

FU, McConnell. I hope Kentucky votes your vile ass out of office. But, if they act stupidly, then you will be a minority and shunned.

C'mon, Kentucky. This guy isn't in your best interests.
