President Donald Trump is raging against his allies whove abandoned his long-shot efforts of overturning the election, according to a new report. Vice President Mike Pence is described as one of the targets of Trumps outrage due to his imminent constitutional duty when the 2020 Electoral College results appear before Congress.
Axios Jonathan Swan reports that Trump is seething at numerous people close to him while he increasingly seeks comfort only in people who egg him on to overturn the election results. The article asserts that Trump believes Pence isnt doing enough to fight for him, and he is especially preoccupied about what will Pence do on January 6 when he presides over Congress as they officially recognize the 2020 results.
Pences role on Jan. 6 has begun to loom large in Trumps mind, according to people whove discussed the matter with him, Swan reports. Trump would view Pence performing his constitutional duty and validating the election result as the ultimate betrayal.
The report goes on with further accounts of Trump lashing out at officials who wont indulge his pushes to overturn the votes.
At this point, according to Swans sources, if youre not in the use the Department of Homeland Security or the military to impound voting machines camp, the president considers you weak and beneath contempt.................................

(3,747 posts)that they can then twist to make it seem like "proof" of cheating, and many Trump supporters will believe it.
Even the act of impounding the machines casts a cloud of suspicion over them. People will think, "Well, if they impounded all those machines, there must be something wrong with them."
That's the goal, I think. To maintain the cloud of suspicion over the legitimacy of the election results.

It's a little hazy.

(7,759 posts)...... HAVE BEEN FLIPPED to favor repugs. The smart republicans should recognize that by making the flipped votes argument FOREVER would prove that it is a possibility even when the Democrats make it.
I'm retired from IT and live in Wisconsin. Walker's Wisconsin where there were always "magic" votes that were just enough to give the repug's the win. Oh and let's not forget voter suppression in all it's forms to help the repug's counts.

(38,206 posts)and needing paper print outs to verify votes, and suspicions over Voting machine companies owned by Conservatives, etc. They won't reconcile that conundrum; they need blunt propaganda to de-legitimize Biden's term.
I don't know what to say about it any more. I know we didn't whine like toddlers in 2016; we sucked it up and conceded defeat.

(23,595 posts)The actual machine for selection is a digital touch screen. You can page back and forth through it as many times as you need to. Each race is on its own page. The font can be enlarged.
When you decide you are finished, you push the "print" button and your ballot prints out. If you see an error, the Election Judge will help you with a new ballot/
So votes aren't flipping anywhere, because you have to touch the screen to choose.
This machine has no memory of your selections. The next voter will be given an access code to bring up their specific ballot.
Once the ballot is printed, the voter deposits it into the scanner. The scanner reads the bar code generated by the vote selection machine and counts the selections.
Every vote has a paper back up.
The only machine that stores any information is the scanner. At the end of the day, we run tally tapes which have the totals for each race . A set goes to the county elections office and a set goes home with the lead judge. The scanning equipment goes with the ballots to the county elections office.
I think the "check up " of the machines will reveal laughable information - as in none

(165,899 posts)is that the original "order", "demand" and "narrative", was that the "libs were/would be using the 'fraudulent' mail-in/absentee ballots", so the "patriotic GOP" should vote "in person" (on a machine) and "not be afraid of the hoax COVID-19", because the machines were solid!!!11!!!!!
Now after losing dozens and dozens of mail-in/absentee ballot lawsuits, they have switched tactics to stay in the news cycle. But as most states reported, Republicans used the machines far more than Democrats, so trying to do something to any machine would essentially throw out their own GOP votes... unless they are thinking that the machine votes should have all been "100% for the GOP" and any "Biden" vote was falsely flipped to him.
I noted in another thread that they have been trying to do this in Georgia ahead of their runoff, and only in the specific counties where the majority of votes for Biden occurred.

(18,536 posts)would be invoking the 25th Amendment and declaring Trump unfit to continue "serving" as president . . . that's when we might actually see his head explode -- when he's booted for "mental incapacity" and Pence takes over the Oval Office . . . and if this keeps going in the direction it's now heading, this may become the actual final step to halt Trump's attempted coup . . .
do stay tuned . . .

(52,908 posts)I would put him in a pleasant 3-bedroom tract house in a blue state that gets really cold. His housemates will be guards from the Bureau of Prisons. He can be escorted to his job at Walmart (not as a greeter, but as a shelf stocker on the night shift) and can be barred from playing golf, tweeting, wearing suits, wearing that cheap-ass makeup he likes, buying gold spray paint, eating fast food or traveling. Taking away all the trappings of his former life will hurt him as badly as being thrown in prison would.

(8,103 posts)I don't know what psychopathology this represents, but we have watched him for four years turn on everyone. Why would anyone think that he would be safe?
Plus, he's running out of time to punish Pence for whatever imagined slight he gave him. So, this isn't surprising. He has new favorites, and gosh, one of them is a girl! So, no wonder at this.
He turned on his wives, too, but we can't tell the exact moment Melania got the treatment. She's probably so happy the nightmare is ending for her, too.

(150,655 posts)Pence has no vote in the matter, actually. He will just be there to preside over the joint session as the official "President of the Senate."
He plays no role, though, in the counting of the electoral votes, nor in any dispute that arises from the floor.
Trump just hates the idea of it all, and now counts Pence as a traitor.
Say goodbye to your pardon, Donnie. Better make nice to Pence.

(6,448 posts)'Tis the season.
'"The man who would be king" should have written his own constitution. Mitch would have allowed it. Trump could have abolished the equal branches of government, made the Supreme Court his way of suing his opponents or jailing them (just as the AG replaced Michael Cohen as fixer), and filled DC with Yes Men, so the Mad Rapist of Pennsylvania Avenue could never be the LOSER that he is today.
His being denied the Throne began with the Dems taking the House in 2018. It seemed big at the time and has gotten bigger with each passing day. About a year ago, it was all about the Impeachment. When the Senate fellated him, I was one of many who never thought we'd be rid of this genocidal maniac.

Not C.E.O. of a corporation.
The people who work for you in your capacity as POTUS, do not owe you their loyalty.
They owe it to the Constitution, which they swore an oath to "protect and defend".
Ya you swore an oath like that yourself, although it is an oath tailor-made for Presidents.
Sadly, however, you have spent your four year term betraying your solemn oath.
One might say, you have shat all over the Constitution for the last four years.
Which is one reason why your ass is about to get kicked to the proverbial curb in about four weeks.
One reason, one of a multitude.
